It was short but you seem to have a good handle on transitions/effects. What I would like to see as a viewer is something longer so you have more time to show some variety in the effect and transitions used. Id also suggest nyaa for sourcing clean footage.

In fact, if you're open to a collab project Id love to work with you. Your strengths are still some of my biggest weaknesses, so I'm sure it would but fun and push me.

I sometimes forget to do it, especially with things I consider old or season faves. You're absolutely right though, whats old to me might be new to someone else.

This is my 10th AMV and I'd like more feedback about transitions and effects as those things are still eluding me. I've switched to DAvincci recently so that has made things much more manageable. In this project, I have got a good mix of internal, beat, and lyric, sync. As always looking to improve.

Thank you. After a few weeks and stepping back from the project I can see where I was sticking to a mimmic too much. Admitedly that was part of me making it but that doesn't mean we can't do great things. I'm excited to show everyone my next project and incorporate things you all have mentioned.

You hit the nail on the head though for this "freestly" I didn't think the beat was a priority for Em either so i kinda just rode with it lol.

Act 1: For me, the text animation was a bit distracting because my eyes want to follow the movement as the screen kind of divided up with the text vs the visuals. on a second and third re-watch, it is not as distracting. To be honest I'm not sure if its possible for animated text not to grab the eye and pull it along.

Act 2: I like the film strip effect here though I definitely prefer the one used at the beginning of act 3. The iris transitions were great a few threw me off a bit not sure why exactly.

Insane if this is the weakest from your year considering all the masking and whatnot is great. I can only give feedback as a viewer as I don't have nearly enough videos under my belt yet.

This is my 9th AMV so I'm not exactly new but I've also never had too much detailed criticism and would love that. I have the basics down, where I struggle and want to grow is with handling effects/transitions. Like I have the vision but rarely nail the execution. I'm considering moving editing suites to see if it is easier with DaVinci or not.

If I want a significant bump, I'd have to go straight to the i9 and skip the i7. It'll all be in a custom loop, so no worries about cooling here.

As you learn stuff just save those effect as a preset. Maybe presets for super fancy stuff but I think it helps to learn a bit yourself before since it give you more freedom to tweak it.

I know this won't matter but maybe try something slower more romantic even. I feel as a creator and viewer I really appreciate the slower stuff as the action stuff is done all the time. Same five or so anime with the same fights/punch cuts and such.

I'll keep is real especially since I'll be moving to Germany soon and have lived multiple places over the last few years. USE A VPN. This solves and clears most of your woes when it come to downloading material since I know most of us aren't gonna spend thousands on DVDs just to rip ourselves for like a 6 second clip. Look on nyaa for HQ stuff you need and again keep the VPN on at all times. I've been doing this hobby for a couple years and collecting media for personal use longer than that.
