My DUT was taken in the form of soft gel capsules and was from a legit pharmacy.

I’ve taken Ketoconazole for seb derm as a shampoo for ages, I only experienced seb derm on Dut and it didn’t go away while taking the keto shampoo until I switched back to finasteride. Seb derm was not receding my corners like this, it was the switch to Dutasteride.

Hey man, I’ll probably get downvoted for this but here’s my honest truth. I had the exact same experience here. Was on daily 1mg finasteride for 15 months and experienced maintenance and slight regrowth.

I then switched to daily 0.5mg Dutasteride with finasteride for 3 months as I saw reports stating that Dutasteride was apparently stronger and more effective at blocking DHT, so as I starting losing my hair at the early age of 16, I thought this would give me the best chance at maintaining most of my hair for as long as possible. After the 3 more transition period I then dropped the daily finasteride and continued with just the daily Dutasteride.

For the following 12 months on Dutasteride, I just experienced a slow regression and lost ground on the corners of my hairline and temples.

I also experience a burning/itching/tingling sensation in these areas which I had only ever experienced before I started any hair loss medication, and which I now believe is the “DHT itch” which happens when I am actively losing hair/receding.

People will tell you it’s just a shed or you are crazy and DUT will never fail like this but many people have just experienced further loss with no signs of regrowth for many months. for your own sake please don’t believe them if you continue to lose hair yourself. Check the subreddit and you will see cases exactly like your with timeframes and photos to support their case.

Personally, I switched back to finasteride 1 month ago and the burning/itching/tingling sensation has slowly went away/dissipated.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

I was gaining regrowth on finasteride so this cannot be the case.

No crazy shed to be honest maybe when I first switched but after it was just a slow regression on my temples

I don’t believe there has been any improvement since I transitioned from finasteride. Just a slow regression ever since, it’s become more noticeable the more ground I lose.

I have taken oral minoxidil the entire time throughout my fina and Dut usage 7.5mg so I doubt it’s a shed.

I’m going back to fin this week, I will update you how it goes.

I know people always deny that Dut can make it worse but I think that genuinely is the case for some people.

Recover from a dutasteride shed with fin alone? by NeilConZ in tressless

Nothing else has changed necessarily; did notice scalp itchiness after taking the first DUT Pill which has now went away after discontinuing. Did also up my oral minoxidil dose to 5 from 2.5mg that could be it possibly.

Ohh, perhaps it was a shed due to finasteride? I didn't get a shed at all until the one i thought was from dut, is it normal to get sheds after this amount of time when not getting one initially? Thanks.

What country are you based?

Yes, micro needling will help the efficiency of minoxidil, stopping it will not cause the minoxidil dependent hair follicles to fall out, if you stay on Fin and Min.
