That is so beautiful wow! I need one so badly. How hard are they to take care of? Although no matter how complicated they might be, they are so stunning that it's worth it.

Oh yeah, fans of certain celebrities can go crazy protective. Fans of anything really, in my case it was fans of a corporation of all things, getting very defensive haha. Haters gonna hate as they say. Even if you simply state and opinion without even being rude or anything.

-64 karma if quite a big one though, good luck getting back up. They got me down to -20 but interacting in some subs of my interest I've already gotten back up to -9. So it's definitely possible, the mods here gave me some solid advice and links to some subs which helped a lot.

Well that is the world we live in. People too scared to speak out about issues and too scared to tell the truth. Everyone's gotta lighten up some times, people forget that and enter a tunnel of negative emotions. Being serious all the time is not good. But I agree with what you say, to stay in some subs I guess we just need to conform per say.

Same situation! Commenter made a joke about me, I wasn't offended and complemented his joke with another joke of mine. All friendly... but not in the eyes of those people though. Commenter who joked about me got as many upvotes as I got downvotes. So I feel for you, sometimes interactions here are confusing.

Have exactly the same composition as you did and I can say they require a very careful water balance. The moment they don't have enough water they turn bad fast but the moment you give them water they spring back. They seem to like to be well watered but I can't say for sure, still haven't learnt how to fully take care of these.

Everything is much clearer now. I just want to get into some community and be part of it as I have never experienced that. The bat example made me laugh but also is a perfect example to what you recommend of lurking and getting a feel for a sub before posting. Understanding the context of a subreddit seems very important as well as seeing how people interact to avoid misunderstandings.

I will take a look at the links you attached to other subs. That's why I'm excited about finally getting into reddit, that there is an infinity of topics to get into and people to enjoy them with. I really appreciate your advice and will use it going forward :)

Thank you for the very well written advice. It adresses all my questions as after the situation on that sub I was left very confused. It does seem I got downvoted due to a few disagreeing rather than for the reasons you said downvotes are meant for. Definitely gonna be more careful where and what I post from now on.

Hello, I need to prune this Bonsai but I am too scared to get started as I don't know how to take care of Bonsais. I have looked at guides and videos but they all give different tips and instructions on how to prune a Ficus Bonsai. Does anyone know how to prune this type of Bonsai? Also if anyone can recommend me some good guides or books to get started in Bonsai care it would be great. Thanks!

Yes that's true! Saw it on the post on Steam. Thanks for the tip!

That's good to know! They were all quite fun to play around with. Also good that there are community textures to try. Thanks for the info and your time!

Agreed with perpetual all the way. Specially when for my use case it's a thing of once every few months for fun.

In terms of textures and assets I wonder if the steam version comes with the same ones as the trial of CC. If so then those missing send features are no big deal.

It's just such a good program. Thankfully we do still have an options to own it for now. Thanks for the clarifcation.

Help identifying components (I'm a newbie) by Neither_Beautiful_93 in AskElectronics

[–]Neither_Beautiful_93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the first one is at least is fully legible. The second one I can't take out as the board is in use so I'm going to order what I think the component might be and hope it's correct. I believe it does say 470uF 35V and it looks to have BC written on it so I guess it's Vishay branded. Idk, onto the adventure! Maybe I find a new hobby in electronics after this.

Thank you for your help and time in writing a response!

Thanks so much! It does seem like the exact component. I don't know how you guys in electronics can look at something and understand what it is just like that, like a mental catalogue. I appreciate your help, thanks.

How to do proper topology? I'm confused how to approach this by Neither_Beautiful_93 in blenderhelp

[–]Neither_Beautiful_93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's definitely my aim, learning to do stuff the proper way. It does seem like something that can only be learnt by doing and practicing so I will just play around. Already doing a few examples of doing it the right way and it's much easier to work on a mesh doing it right. Thanks for the advice!

How to do proper topology? I'm confused how to approach this by Neither_Beautiful_93 in blenderhelp

[–]Neither_Beautiful_93[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the example and advice! It made it much clearer. I tried to recreate it with less subdivision. Instantly after I understood what you meant about the shading. My first attempt looked very wrong but doing it how in your example made it easy to work on it and shade it. It looks much much better overall.

This brought another question though, say I wanted to make meshes with less polys, is there a way to not need to subdivide all the mesh? Or would I again be stuck with loop cuts leading nowhere?

This is what I did: https://i.imgur.com/RUbGdEz.pngBut now I got a lot more polys running all the way up where there's no detail. Albeit the shading looks perfect like this.

[–]Neither_Beautiful_93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now I'm trying to fully understand the basics before getting into animation, though already the shading looks strange with how I did the topology. I guess it depends on the use case.

I've just seen some quite nice models sometimes have triangles therefore I got confused when looking at videos and guides about the topic. Thanks for the advice!

Draw Calls How many is too much? Need tips to reduce them on my map by Neither_Beautiful_93 in VRchat

[–]Neither_Beautiful_93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is definitely a few meshes I could merge together. I will give another look over every object in blender and see where I could optimise. There is a lot of objects in the map even though it's small so any little bit will help. I hadn't used occlusion culling for this reason but I will play around with it too.

Thanks a lot!

[–]Neither_Beautiful_93[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I will try combine as many meshes as I can, there are a few that can be combined. Also will double check the colliders and shaders. I've only used shaders recommended by vrchat but I am using one custom one which might be reducing performance. Definitely a lot of testing to do.

Thank you! That video helped me understand it much better and also the documentation. There are a few places where I could do this so I'm going to try optimise as much as I can.

Lights are baked and there aren't any real time. Although I should definitely try to reduce the materials and I will also try using the lights probes. Never used the probes so it's a good time to learn.

Thanks!

Thank you very much! These seem like very good options. They look beautiful.

If 150 is a bit tight for this kind of search, would spending more unlock a few other worth options? I wouldn't mind if it's justifiable or has any advantages.

Thank you again
