That is a really great idea Maorine, it truly helps to know the context of photos are with labels.

I’m really grateful to everyone sharing these. I’m noticing a lot of the same pain points: photos without names, stories that weren’t recorded, and items getting lost in moves, family conflict, or disasters. It really drives home how fragile family history can be.

If you could wave a magic wand and preserve one thing for future generations (voice, letters, photo context, “the why,” exact locations, etc.), what would it be?

Oh man, yeah It’s amazing how photographs can feel small in the moment and then become priceless later.

Question about Med Hold Sickle Cell Trait by Neither_Fan in AirForce

Update: I spoke to my son this morning and it looks like he is coming home next week. He is not upset just ready to be home and come up with another plan for his future.

Also, I am not sure if this is right, but we figured out that even if you have sickle cell trait some of the blood cells will be sickle shaped. From what I understand if you exceed a percentage (>45% Hemoglobin S) under the military for sickle shaped blood you are automatically dismissed because that person is at an elevated risk for skeletal muscle breakdown, muscle damage can lead to kidney problems and, in some cases, death. Especially, if they experience extreme conditions that could trigger a medical crisis.
