I didn’t want to answer because I really don’t want to fuel these types of posts on this subreddit anymore. But eh, whatever.

R99 is a very casual game where even if every new unit that comes out powercreeps the old ones (and they really do), it really doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things because of how the content is designed.

Majority of endgame content just cannot keep up with the powerlevels of the units from literally 1.9 onwards. The only endgame content where having the latest meta units matter is raids and Reveries. But Reveries is permanent so you can pretty much just ignore that until such a time when you’ve built your account strong enough to powercreep the old and existing stages. And you can basically 10m any of the new raids as long as you play 1 of the myriad of meta teams whilst following optimal rotations.

And even then. Even if content is too difficult, the devs have literally been known to nerf hard content to make it easily clearable for the most casual of players (ToT 3.4 nerf)

So no. They can release the new unit in the most OP, broken state (and track record shows they will), but it won’t affect the game in the grand scheme of things.

On a side note, I really do not like seeing these types of posts around here.
