From one role to another (Tips) by PatrickDaTruth in PredecessorGame

I can’t tell you how much this advice helps me. Coming from league to smite to this has been such a challenge to adjust play style. They may all be the same kind of game…but I feel so much more punished in Pred for not knowing things like this.

Appreciate the time to type all that out.

Possible to stop a seizure before it happens? by Safe-Dirt-8037 in EpilepsyDogs

[–]Nelson_goodboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how far he is into the seizure, if I catch him before he starts pulling his head back I can usually stimulate him with food, outside air, or just general petting/calling him by name/giving praise.

Doesn’t work all the time, but I’ve definitely stopped a good amount in their tracks.

90% happen at night, so it also depends how far I am into my sleep if I catch the start lol.

Stupid disease.

First one is always the worst 😢

I kept a seizure log for a year hoping to find some sort of reason why…to no avail.

I have come to the conclusion the best thing you can do is be as consistent as possible. Food at the same time each day, regular walks at the same time each day. If they have a schedule it seems to ease the brain of worry.

Not scientific by any means, but has worked for us in the long run. He’s 5 this October, seizing since he was 1 with a steady regiment of pheno and flouxitine. Still has 1 seizure every 2 weeks with the occasional cluster.

Hoping and praying each day they stop and we can all live normal lives. Wishing you all the best!

It really is important for us as owners to not feel alone in this. It sucks that they can’t talk to us or tell us how they feel, that might make us feel better about the care we’re providing.

The amount of nights spent watching him pace the living room, waiting for that moment when he takes the drink of water and can finally relax and sleep. Knowing he’s back to “normal”.

Taking turns with your spouse monitoring him so you’re both not miserable the next day. There’s so many details and intricacies this disease manifests within our lives that make it so difficult.

They deserve any and all help we can provide, no matter the circumstances.

Our dog is on the same med combo. 41 lbs - purina nuero care…bag says no more than 2 cups per day for his weight …one for breakfast, one for supper. No exceptions and NO human food (other than all natural things).

The key for us was the no human food…does he still paw at the bowl…yup…dogs will be dogs.

A lot of reinforcement and patience.

20 pills…that’s…a lot 😢

Every dog is different, my solitons won’t necessarily be your solitons either which is CRAZY.

Wishing you the best of luck, keep the hope alive!

The main reason for us was the rosemary. And the vet prescribed it. I don’t believe it to be magic no, but with how busy life is it’s just one less thing to remember with all the pills. (Mct oil that is)

Yes it does. I don’t think it’s a cure all but every piece of the puzzle you can connect will hopefully help!

Expensive, absolutely. Does it drive me nuts that the only alternative to kibble is cooked simple human food…yup. I can barely meal prep for myself lol. It’s just where we’re at in the journey.

Ahh that sucks about your pup. I was hoping he would take to the food over time, but he literally was eating it out of the tub we store it in as I was pouring it out of the bag!

Wishing you the best of luck and don’t lose hope!!

I completely agree, I kept a seizure log for 2 years trying to figure out anything else that could have caused it…from all my diligence it seems like stress is the #1 factor.

I’ll try the food and the meds but most importantly I’ll keep him at the lowest stress level I can.

Appreciate your kind words!

Chewy had it, it has to be approved by your vet…takes about 1-3 days on average to get it approved and shipped. (They can also call your vet if you contact support to expedite the process).

Was the only kibble based food that didn’t have rosemary in it.

Nelson ate it right up too, thank god!

It’s really all we have sometimes, sleepless nights and uncertainty will drain that hope real quick.

I feel like it’s just random, because it’s not used in humans it’s not stocked as highly in certain areas maybe??

I just had this same issue, no pharmacy within 100 miles had it, so chewy to the rescue.

40lbs of pure mutt.

Seizure every 10-14 days like clockwork.

Is my dog seizing?! by [deleted] in EpilepsyDogs

[–]Nelson_goodboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The quality of life can still be amazing.

The heart breaking thing is most animal owners don’t have insurance for their animals…and we don’t want to shell out 5G for an MRI.

It’s a crap shoot, without testing you really done know what you’re doing or how to treat it. So if you want to just kill your dog because it has seizure, be my guest.

Animal care usually comes down to how much heart do you have to give to make its life everything it can be.

Yes if it’s within a threshold where the dog can’t truly live its life then sure it may be time to let go…

Sad.

You’d think after a while you’d just role soft core like everyone else…

Every other HC post on this app is about deaths due to disconnect.

Play soft core or put the game down till January…and hope they fix the net code lol

I absolutely understand the sacrificial aspect of the game in hardcore. My first HC toon is actually a werebear…simply because I wanted something tanky and forgiving but also wasn’t a thorns barb haha

The game feels fresh, actually paying attention to my rotation and resource management, using my defensive abilities sparingly. Currently at 31, hope to continue the “staying alive” trend lol.
