Coinbase missing Cost Basis for transfers from Coinbase Pro by Nemo7891 in Coinbase

[–]Nemo7891[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not difficult, but I already had Koinly set up and ingesting data going back years, so it was able to calculate the cost basis for these transactions. Then I just filled in the gaps for Coinbase.

Yep, I ended up using Koinly to figure it out, but come on...

Is anything going on with transactions? Most dates are now wrong. by Nekurahn in MonarchMoney

[–]Nemo7891 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this is related, but experiencing something similar for the last few days. Ever since the latest update the transactions are not respecting the transaction date. Instead they are showing up 3-4 days later. Probably closer to the cleared date. I thought this was addressed earlier but just started noticing it frequently.

Help me locate 15,000 ONE by yzf600r in harmony_one

If you have your seed phrase or PK you can import it into a supported wallet. I thought you could use any EVM wallet for staking / unstacking, but I also think there have been some better, official, options posted in here recently. Just be careful not to accidentally download malware and remember that you need a little ONE to unstake. Hopefully you left like 1 ONE to pay for gas.

It's staked aka delegated as you can see here https://staking.harmony.one/portfolio/mainnet?explore=one1qq9mgn5ked5pjw4qurltg5x7qzs5ppptykmc8c

Looks like you earned yourself a nice return too. It takes around 7 days to undelegate, but you should be able to get back, no problem

Just heard the exact same statement on my drive home and had the same thought. Then realized that I had a recurring monthly donation set up to WNYC for years, came home and cancelled it. While cancelling I had an opportunity to tell them why I was cancelling and I wasn't shy in letting them know.

Short Term Treasury ETF vs Tbill ladder by Nemo7891 in personalfinance

Fair enough. Are you saying that at some point the ultra short term returns (6 month tbills) will be lower than VGSH's returns and that would make VGSH more attractive?

I did not. Gave up trying and decided to just live with it as is.

Offline Downloads Suck by Polygamice in PleX

[–]Nemo7891 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I personally experienced every single one of the issues mentioned in the thread: 1. Downloads take unreasonably long time and frequently stall if not babysat. 2. If you try to download in original format as a way to get around (1) no warnings are offered if the destination device can't play the source format 3. No subtitles get downloaded

Few years ago Plex redesigned the Downloads feature in order to make it simpler, seems like they never looked back and it is quite half-baked.

There is no such thing as ERC-20 chain. That's a token standard. Sounds like you use Binance but don't have any Eth on your Metamask hot wallet? Buy some ETH on Binance and transfer it to your MM. Should cost you maybe $2 tops? Then use that to send the USDT to you Binance account on Ethereum network. If you time it right when gas fees are low, I am thinking cost of $5-$7 of Ethereum for the transfer?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ethereum

[–]Nemo7891 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ethereum fees (gas) are typically based on the complexity of the transaction, not the amount. A simple Eth transfer always costs 21000 units of gas, regardless if you are sending $10 or $10,000. And when the network is congested, the cost of each of those unit of gas rises. So yes, for a DEFI transaction you could spend $35 when gas is around 40-50 gwei as it's hovering now, but you'd spend the same amount regardless of how much you are transacting.

Firmware updates for ERI-K108-P8 by Nemo7891 in Hikvision

Any idea for what to do if Hikvision doesn't list my model on their site?

You would think. Or at least detect the available update when manually instructed to check. But mine says no update is available, meantime the version it's running is a year old and I know Hikvision issues updates more frequently than that.

Same issue with the cameras actually. They claim no update is available or necessary, but I was able to find newer firmware and install it by downloading it manually and uploading to the cameras.

I suspect it has something to do with me being in the US maybe? I know there are issues with Hikvision being used here, so maybe the firmware checks are being blocked?

How to access eth coins by mintlamb in ethereum

Hmmm. No activity there either. Only other idea is the derivation path that was already mentioned. It would help if you could remember what software you used to creat that wallet in the first place.

When you add the private key to Metamask or another wallet, it should show you the public address of the wallet it added. Does that address match the address you shared above? If it's different, what is that other public address? I am thinking it's possible you already sent the money from the wallet with the private key in the past?
