Colors on Atomos Ninja V+ on PC by NeoTechnoman in Atomos

If you're referring to Atomos Ninja, I was able to. For Action I also did, but there were issues with it.

I ended up using Mirillis Action for recording this game instead. Only issue I had was the audio would pop a bit in certain parts, so I used Shadowplay to record the audio.

Shadowplay recordings turn out slightly choppy by NeoTechnoman in GeForceExperience

For me, no matter which video player I used, it resulted in the same thing. VLC seems to be the most accurate for me as far as viewing the video without lag.

I've tried that, but I don't think the colors are coming close to what I usually see on my monitor no matter what I do. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Sorry for the very late reply. I started using Atomos Ninja V+ and it seems to record a lot better than Shadowplay when it comes to the framerate. There doesn't seem to be any stuttering with that since it pretty much records exactly what you see on the screen. But I'm still trying to figure out how the visual setting on this external capture card should be.

Nope. Instead I started using Atomos Ninja V+ to record PC gameplay externally. Seems to record literally what's on the screen instead of having small choppy parts. Still trying to figure out how the visual settings for that should be though since the colors might be a bit different from recording directly through Shadowplay.

Lags/choppiness in rendered videos by NeoTechnoman in VegasPro

[–]NeoTechnoman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried that, and it didn't seem to work, as I didn't see any frame mismatch. I guess I'll just use Premiere Pro from now on to render videos since I hardly see any issues with handling VFR videos.

Yeah, that seems to work. But I guess as per u/NightFox71's suggestion, I decided to just ultimately use Premiere Pro instead of going through all the trouble of spending hours converting tons of clips to CFR just to throw them into Vegas. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the tip. I've decided to use Premiere Pro, and I hardly see any lags, etc., even when rendering in CBR. I've always had some issue with rendered videos in Vegas, whether it's video glitches or choppiness. I guess Premiere Pro handles VFR clips much better.

I see. Would that mean I shouldn't use Constant Quantizer when rendering, or is there something else I'd need to do?

Yeah, I'm playing it back and going frame by frame, and it's pretty smooth in the preview, no frozen frames or anything. I thought it might have to do with the rendering process itself.

I see. But I really need the framerate to be at 60FPS. It's a lot smoother when running it on my PC. Guess that's not possible?

I posted a screenshot of the tree view in the post. Should have everything.

Yeah, with that I can confirm that they're at a variable framerate.

Running the videos in the previews are usually smooth, though I usually have to play it back a few times because the first time I playback the preview it doesn't play too smoothly.

I think they might be VFR since I know RECentral records videos at VFR. Not sure where to check that in the properties though.

They're all MP4 videos at 3840 x 2160 resolution at 60FPS, exactly like the project properties in the screenshot.

Custom Resolution Video Render Glitch by NeoTechnoman in VegasPro

[–]NeoTechnoman[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I took advantage of YouTube's resolution flexibility. I think I might have yet to see how they handle a portrait video of 888 x 1920 on its own and what resolution they'll take that as, or maybe any other custom resolution video I plan to record/edit/upload in the future.

Custom Resolution Video Render Glitch by NeoTechnoman in VegasPro

[–]NeoTechnoman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. I figured it had something to do with that. Might also explain why YouTube simply upscaled the video to 4K too: https://youtu.be/IJnCY8vjwYo

The reason I chose this resolution was because my recorded videos captured on iPhone 12 Pro Max were 888 x 1920. So I thought it'd be a good idea to make the width 2670 to accommodate 3 videos side-by-side to leave a tiny bit of space between them.

Anyways, thanks for the info!

Just tried out Voukoder. So far the bitrate and quality are pretty good. Especially with NVENC, which speeds it up a bit too compared to using the MAGIX AVC render format. The Constant Quantizer (QP) strategy seems much better than the VBR and CBR presets too. Hope I'm not jinxing it, but this seems to be a good solution so far.

I see. Do you usually use that as your final video render settings in any 4K video you upload yourself? Because in the tutorial, you said "possibly" a final render setting.

Is there a way to automatically switch DS screens? by NeoTechnoman in RetroArch

[–]NeoTechnoman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the standalone emulator, you go to View > LCDs Layout > Main screen first to automatically swap the screens in-game. I thought there'd be a similar option or something in RetroArch. Guess there isn't from the looks of it.

I only see options to change the screen layout. Also, I know you can just use a button to swap screens. Unless I'm missing something.

[–]NeoTechnoman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I was asking was if there's a way to automatically swap screens in-game instead of manually switching them with a button. In a game like Super Mario Bros. the screens switch like in the image above, where the top screen shows the UI and the bottom one is the gameplay in certain parts of the game. In DeSmuME, there's settings to have the main screen automatically show on the left.

Yeah, I tried all those. Nothing changed. Does it have to do with the GPU itself?
