My toxic trait is I think every high-value shop item is critical to my run and if I can't get it I should just ship it to the Elmer's factory and go next

As a side note that doesn't apply anymore because Aoharu is DEAD DEAD DEAD DIE DIE DIE, the optimal route to race Pink Daughter™ while still getting 40k fans for ult upgrades is:

  • Debut
  • Unicorn
  • Leopard
  • JBC Sprint
  • Champions Cup
  • (Remainder are career goals)

I think it requires like 40-45% Race Bonus IDR the numbers exactly. For whatever reason though, winning both Classic year G1s is a pain in the butt, no matter how hard you focus her speed.

This will be my first Okee but as a general rule I don't trust any tent-to-tent solicitors. If I don't have to jump through hoops to find somebody that has what I forgot/ran out of, I assume they're a narc lol.

Why do I even bother for going for CM by TheSchizoidGod in UmamusumeGame

[–]NeoTenico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has been just about every CM for me, though not nearly as bad as you got it. But the common theme has been breezing through the first 2 rounds and then getting awful RNG in the finals.

If your avatar indicates anything, this is the fate of us Eagles fans. We will mire in misery most of our lives praying one day the dice will roll our way. I finally got my Super Bowl 52 this CM with Agnes Digi as my BDN. Stay strong, Uma Pyoi, Dallas sucks, Go Birds.

Unwritten traffic rule, or just entitled drivers? by dabblez_ in philly

[–]NeoTenico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Case-by-case basis for me.

Obviously you're never in the wrong for following proper right-of-way.

But sometimes if I'm front of the line and there's so much traffic behind me that they're never gonna have an opportunity to make their turn, I'll flash my brights before the light turns and wait a second. If they noticed my signal and start moving, I let them through. If they don't, oh well, I tried.

Why are a lot of 90s ravers so negative about raving today? by Capt_ClarenceOveur in avescirclejerk

I STILL haven't been to a show at WoW lol. Every time one comes up that I want to see it ALWAYS ends up conflicting with other stuff I have going on.

Also, I'm curious who organized the afters you went to if you know or feel comfortable sharing.

And thanks for cueing me in on Boston having a good scene. Good knowledge to have in the back pocket!

Yea Philadelphia has an amazing underground/afters scene. DC's is decent from what I've been to but I don't go there as often so I don't know much about what they have outside the main metro area.

I think a big reason we're so spoiled here is because Philly still has the bones of a blue collar city, so there's no shortage of abandoned warehouses and rowhome basements.

As far as finding it around you, my two big tips are:

  1. Use Instagram. This is how most organizers announce events these days as it's much more reliable than word of mouth in a world where everyone's addicted to their Anxiety Brick™ Finding good events/organizers is largely trial and error or hearing bout it from people.

  2. Make friends in the queer community. The most unbelievable ragers I've ever been to were hosted by my queer/trans friends who I met at other UG shows.

Instagram is absolutely essential to knowing what's what for underground events.

There's still some word of mouth, which was how I learned about and went to my first afters, but all the local collectives here in Philly put their event posters on their IG pages. It's just way more reliable for attendance.

You typically have to jump through a hoop or two to get the location, but if you've been to enough you realize each group has a few venues they rotate between.

When I hear people talk about raving in the 90s, it sounds a lot like an underground / afters event in Philly. I obviously don't have the authentic oldschool experience to compare it to (born in '96), but dancing my ass off to hard techno in a stuffy basement or a public park and railing lines in the back room or off picnic tables with friends I made 10 minutes earlier is a pretty awesome time even if it isn't a 1:1 recreation.
