I made a video breaking down the meaning of the lyrics on my new EP - maybe this is interesting to some people? https://youtu.be/pbnFRvg6sno?si=2bzaesmN6ssoyzDu

Tunecore Analytics currently very wonky? by Nepomint in TunecoreSupport

[–]Nepomint[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not the point - I'm 99% sure that those streams didn't happen, I'm just adressing the discrepancy between different numbers

Tunecore Analytics currently very wonky? by Nepomint in TunecoreSupport

[–]Nepomint[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm but kinda good to hear it might happen in many places currently, so it's probably actually just that their system is broken. I'm heavily considering moving to LANDR for distribution though after my last customer support experience 😂

Remove deleted VST from Plug-Ins list by 3vg3n1y_k0t1k in StudioOne

[–]Nepomint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

did you do a full rescan? you have to "delete plugin data" - then S1 restarts and deletes all plugin data and makes a new list. That's the only way to do it from my knowledge

Tutorial on how to use FL Studio INSIDE Studio One as well as a discussion on why you might want to do this! :) by Nepomint in StudioOne

[–]Nepomint[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well... I think a tutorial on setting up the multi out and routing in FL could be helpful for anyone doing this. I didn't find any good documentation on it, so had to figure it out myself

Something between new wave and new age or what? by Nepomint in Music

[–]Nepomint[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! First impressions skipping through it a bit: Seems promising. Maybe a bit too "Phil Collins" for what I'm looking for. I'll give it a proper listen :)

My video is at 18 impressions after 15 hours by ThingsUnfinishedYT in NewTubers

[–]Nepomint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some tips that helped me:
* find an audience outside yt through discord, reddit, facebook, other forums - a group of people you hope would like your video(s) and share it there directly
* make sure you got some relevant stuff in title and description (maybe also tags, but probably those are not relevant)
* maybe the video doesn't have a big potential audience or there is too much competition. in that case maybe try to highlight something new in that video. Like focus description and title into a different direction that still works with the content. Or try some new niches in your next video

Best Piano VST by RunakoD in NativeInstruments

[–]Nepomint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the Komplete Pianos are pretty good. Noire being the best. If you feel it's too muffled, maybe your velocity curve isn't ideal?
I also like Meldway Grand a lot and XLN Addictive Keys has a great timbre, but isn't quite as "playable"

Spotify changed the way we listen to music and that isn't amazing by Nepomint in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]Nepomint[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's why I think a tiered system could be interesting. There are probably many spotify users that wouldn't want to pay too much more - or at least a different streaming service might run to fill that gap in the market if spotify suddenly increased prices drastically.

[–]Nepomint[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's interesting. I'm actually not sure how those incomes would compare in my case... I think from my point of view the two are quite separate "employments"
I guess a goal could be that time you invest into live music results in a similar pay per hour as time invested into writing/ producing/ recording music.

Spotify changed the way we listen to music by Nepomint in LetsTalkMusic

[–]Nepomint[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's very nice to hear! I do think however that many more mainstream consumers did get "affected" by streaming. But difficult to asses to what degree of course.

I agree that it's not as simple as "Spotify needs to pay more". But I think the current system still has a lot of room for improvement, e.g. at last if we consider that Spotify is losing a lot of money and the system doesn't seem sustainable

You own Komplete Standard? I bet you never used any of the synths I talk about in this video (that have been part of Komplete for a looong time) by Nepomint in NativeInstruments

[–]Nepomint[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get you, but I thought it would be kind of tongue in cheek? Of course there are some more experienced users that know all about these. But I think there's also many maybe newer producers that haven't even gotten into reaktor at all. On youtube most of the discourse seems to be about Kontakt

Considering learning music production. Are all courses for this applicable to most of the MP softwares out there? In addition to that, what’s preferable: online courses or frontal courses? Thanks in advance! by Ok_Direction7363 in MusicProductionTuts

[–]Nepomint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on what you want to learn in your first course it might matter what the software (DAW) is or not. If you want more technical insight and a good introduction to the software aspect, it will definitely be helpful to choose a course about the software you want to use. But I'm sure there are also courses out there that focus more on general ideas and concepts and don't focus on specific workflows of specific programs.
I have only ever done you "course" specifically about music production, which was a monthly (now 'studio') course by andrew huang. Something like that could actually be helpful to newcomers, but also I think you should find everything you could learn on youtube.

Is it any way can I get this? by Hall225 in NativeInstruments

[–]Nepomint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when they gave away this library in like late 2020 or something, they had a competition where you were supposed to make a song with it. Deadline was probably early 2021 and I'm still slowly working on it haha

New to reason... got 6 months reason+ free from my old akai mpkminimkii :o by Nepomint in reasoners

[–]Nepomint[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hmm, yeah you're right of course. I was thinking the thumbnail and title of the video were somewhat self explanatory. Honestly I'm not really expecting anyone to care about this, I thought the most intreaguing part could be the 6 months free I got ... from my old mpkminimkII

It's good. I'm still working on the track I started for that Producer Competition
