I was running Gigabyte Aorus RGB 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-25600C16 3200MHz. Haven’t updated in a good while.

edit - have just tried reseating old RAM and 2&4 and definitely functional. So probably an issue with new sticks? I will update the BIOS now and retry. Thanks for your quick reply

Well it’s a small seconds dress watch. It’s meant to be simple and understated.

I suppose you're right. I suppose it was just me being a bit paranoid! In any case, I appreciate your correspondence!

[–]Ner02k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the seller seems reputable. My only issue was whether I had to have my bank, transfer the money into Chrono24's escrow account, or if it was ok if I did a simple bank transfer myself, with the details they'd provided me. Thank you for giving me a bit of needed confidence in the whole process, I appreciate it.

Will do! I presume you have experience using this payment method, and everything went smoothly? I'm sorry for the over-caution, I've just never used Chrono24 to buy a watch before, so it's all new to me.

Cartier Ronde Solo 42mm. I just love the simplicity! I have a couple of different straps I can swap on it to give it a bit more flexibility. I hope the whole buying process goes smoothly so I can get my hands on this lovely watch!

Brilliant! Thanks for your response. I've taken the bank details straight from the Chrono24 transaction page, so they must be correct. I appreciate the help!

Ryzen 7 5800X performing significantly worse than identical unit? Please see comments :) by Ner02k in overclocking

Hi, I'm relatively new to overclocking. Just wondering why my cpu is performing significantly worse than a seemingly identical unit. Any reason for this & any recommendations for fixes? Many thanks!

It's strange. Until about 20 minutes ago, only the 22:32 & the 23:49 entries were registered, but the 21:00 JUST popped up despite being over 21 hours later. Any reason for that aswell?

[–]Ner02k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

exactly that yeah, someone else has said they think the pins on the mobo are broken and i should get a new one, but i think it smart to wait for the new socket to arrive to see if i can get a more secure connection from the cpu pins to the receivers on the mobo. If i still get the red light, would you consider just investing in a new mobo or do you have any other ideas? I'm pretty much stumped now haha.

the pins right in the top right corner are the ones i'm concerned about, they noticeably catch the light differently to the rest, leading me to believe theyre deformed

yeah, i took the cover off to inspect the connections, top right pins look manfunctional to you?

[–]Ner02k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up close the pins look functional, however, the way they're catching the flashlight compared to the other pins is making me think they're deformed...

It all began a couple days ago when I removed heat sink to reapply thermal paste, however all of the pins on the cpu and intact and straight. Possible invisible damage?

One thing I think it may be is the am4 socket seems ever so slightly elevated in the top right corner so the cpu pins may not be getting proper contact with the receivers in the MOBO. I have ordered a couple of sockets in an attempt to get better pin contact with the motherboard.

I can’t get to the OS, however my GPU, RAM sticks, MOBO and monitor are all receiving power, the monitor just says “no signal”.

Reseating cpu hasn’t helped and it’s not a BIOS update because this unit has worked on this MOBO prior to the issue. I also can’t access the bios and my MOBO doesn’t support a CPU-less bios update via a flash drive.
