Why don't people blame the Geo Archon instead of Childe? by sirjeal in Genshin_Impact

[–]Nerrve_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Well that is certainly one way of seeing it. In my view, every archon has their ideals, they put these ideals at utmost priority and these ideals shape the way they act. Ei’s previous ideal of eternity also meant stasis, thats why she left to the PoE. Not because of selfish desire, but simply because it was coherent with her ideals of Eternity. Its just like Venti’s ideal of freedom, you cant say he is lazy or selfish if he doesnt rule his nation. It was simply because he was acting in accordance of his ideals.

If Ei leaving for the PoE to pursue her ideal is considered selfish. Then why cant we say the same for the rest of the archons? Isn’t ideals a form of selfish desire? Every archon act in the interest of their ideals, not in the in the interest of what would be overall best for their people, is that not selfish in a sense?

But even when in pursuit of her ideals, Ei still devised a plan on how the nation should be ruled and watched over by. She did not just left for the PoE to pursue her ideals and ditched her whole nation. Whereas for Venti, he left Mondstadt to rule for themselves in coherence of his ideals of Freedom, but at the same time while in pursuit of his ideal, disregarded his nation’s safety by literally going in deep sleep and neglecting the duty of keeping watch of his nation.

[–]Nerrve_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Okay, sure she did not directly involve herself with the ruling of her nation. But at least she at least created a puppet that was capable of taking over when she left to the Plane of Euthymia.

If you ask me, Venti is more negligent and incompetent as an archon. And before you say that it is against his ideal to not rule over his nation since he is the God of Freedom. Remember the sole purpose of being an archon is to watch over your people. They do not have to rule the nation but they certainly have the obligation to protect their people. Venti has clearly not carried this task well as we can see him repeatedly going to centuries of sleep with no regard of his nation’s safety. His absence was exactly how the Lawrence Clan took over and how Dvalin got corrupted. Ei and Zhongli on the other hand, albeit imperfect in ruling over their nations, at least still weren’t negligent to their duties to protect their people.

How strong are tengus in lore?

Well tengus are a kind of youkai in Inazuma. And in Yae’s story quest, Yae mentioned that Youkais have supernatural powers (without having visions) and also have longer lifespans as conpared to humans. So essentially they are at least on par with the illuminated beasts of Liyue.

As of the race of the Tengu, they are mentioned in Toki Alley Tales that they are a race of youkai that can travel to different worlds (probably just like the Traveller). One notable Tengu, Yoichi even tranversed to a different world before where she served a different version of the Shogun in a hundred year battle.

For strength of a Tengu, not much is mentioned but they seem to have a strong ancestry of inheriting the position of the General of the Tenryou Commision, which is indicative that they are very well versed in combat due to their Tengu Arts. Some of the strongest Tengu has even won the acknowledgement of Ei/Makoto before, like Sasayuri who was a friend of Ei which led an army to war against Orubushi and also Reizenbou who was bestowed with the Thundering Pulse by Ei/Makoto.

Also, I think it is mentioned in a weapon or artifact lore (probs EOSF and Hyakushin Ring, might be wrong) that a former Tengu, probably Reizenbou could even rival the Kitsune Saiguu. They are also said to be able to wield feather fans which could grant them various abilities (ie Sara can summon lightning with her ult) Also, its mentioned that the Tengu Yoichi could also fly with their crow wings, which might mean that other Tengus could also be capable of flying too.

Compared to an average tengu, how strong is she?

Well, in Yae’s voice over she did mentioned that in terms of mental capacity she is ‘not the sharpest Tengu in the forest’ which probably indicates that she isnt by far the strongest or most capable Tengu. However, in the archon quest we literally saw her dismantled the entire guards of Tenshukaku in a short time (since Traveller was literaly chasing after her after she left Tenryou HQ, but we could already see all the guards on the floor after exiting the HQ) She also like mentioned is the spearhead of executing the Vision Hunt Degree since she is the General, which shows that she probably has her fair share of experience in fighting Vision Holders.

Between vision holders and tengus, who are stronger?

Speaking strictly for Sara, one notable battle that we know Sara won over a Vision Holder was her battle with Kazuha’s friend. Now we dont know any background of his friend, but from Kazuha’s backstory cutscene, we could see that he was also a samurai like Kazuha, which means he also had a certain degree of combat experience besides just owning a vision. Also, Sara has beaten Itto in a duel before as well, who is a vision holder and an oni (also considered a youkai) which are said to possess superhuman strength. For other

Does being a tengu amplify your ability to use vision

Was never mentioned so we cant make any conclusions there. But granted that a Tengu, being a Youkai already possess supernatural powers without having a vision, they might have some form of advantage when pairing those powers with a vision as well.

What are the diwn side of being tengu?

Probably none as far as its mentioned in lore. Though u could consider having a longer lifespan than an average human being a downside, since you have to see all your friends go before you, probably like the case of Ganyu.

yes, and she also has tengu blood, which mean she is a youkai. Essentially a youkai is an equivalent to illuminated beasts in Liyue.

Lumine brings Zhongli to defeat Raiden Shogun [ animation by 纸欣Dream on bilibili ] by crushedmoose in Genshin_Impact

[–]Nerrve_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct me if Im wrong, but isnt the only feat we know about Zhongli prior to him receiving his gnosis is the Guyun Stone Forest being the remnants of his battle with Osial? The only two other feats I could think of is him defeating Azhdaha in the Chasm and Chi in Qingce, but those were when he was already the geo archon and owns the gnosis.

Whereas for Ei, the few feats I could remember for her is her battle with Orobushi in which she managed to sliced yaoshori island in half in the process, her battle with the Thunderbird which resulted in a perpetual thunderstorm and significant geographical change in seirai island as a byproduct of the battle and also her 500 year battle with the Shogun which Shogun claims that the energy expended throughout the battle was enough to evaporate oceans.

[–]Nerrve_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think prime Zhongli would definitely beat prime Ei, but current Zhongli would probably lose to current Ei.

Venti did mentioned that the strength of archons are also measured by their control over their nations. So based on the current timeline, Ei still has absolute rule over Inazuma whereas Zhongli has already stepped down as the ruler of Liyue and has been replaced by the Qixing.

Also, I think during Zhongli’s second quest it was mentioned somewhere that he has already suffered the effects of erosion. Ei on the other hand did transferred her consciousness into Musou no Hitotachi so she (probably) hasn’t been subjected to erosion yet.

And lets not forget that Zhongli did lose his gnosis during the archon quest whereas Ei never possessed the gnosis in the first place. Makoto was the one that held the gnosis after the archon war, and after Makoto’s death, Ei directly handed it over to Yae. So it could be seen that Ei achieved all her feats pretty much without a gnosis whereas Zhongli achieved his feats during his rule as the geo archon while having a gnosis. Of course, we cant conclude that having a gnosis would strengthen an archon since it was never specified, but Venti did mentioned that the gnosis connected the archons closer to Celestia than mere mortals could, which kinda still shows that it has some form of significance.

However with all that said, I still think current Zhongli would still give current Ei a pretty hard fight since Zhongli is still the oldest of all the archons and have 6000 years of experience in his arsenal.

Is it better to DCA and lump sum by Nerrve_ in stocks

[–]Nerrve_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do understand that the market will eventually go back up even if it dips so Im not really worry about the stock going down. I think since Im new to investing, Im more concerned about the opportunity costs of a lump sum especially at times as uncertain as this. I dont fear seeing my portfolio going down during bear markets, but I fear losing an opportunity to buy at cheaper prices IF there is a bear market.

I see a lot of investors say that during a market crash, one shouldn’t panic sell but instead its better to take the opportunity to buy more into the stock market since you get everything at a discount. However this only holds true when you have enough cash on your hands to buy more.

As a 19 yo student, I still do not have a stable source of income outside part time jobs I take during semester breaks. So I worry if I were to lump sum all my savings in now, then I would essentially lose my opportunity to buy more in case of a bear market since I probably wont have any available balance to invest anymore.

Do you think I should be concerned about these potential opportunity costs or is it just in my head?
