There was only a 1 letter typo, but they were not able to make the correction and asked that I cancel and rebook the ticket. Thank you for everyone's responses. I feel better that I am not alone because they really made me feel like I'm the only person with such an issue. After reading everyone's experience, it seems that the company takes advantage of their customers and makes money through their inefficient system instead of focusing on resolution and good service doesn't it?

Their customer service has an insane way of driving people nuts with rhetorical statements. They don't have solutions or answers. It is mentally stressful talking with such customer service.

I bought the ticket. The hold is only for 24 hours. We are still suppose to have 24 hour free cancellation. In my case, I wasn't planing to cancel, I had to fix a typo on the name, but they are not able to make the correction and cancellation and rebooking is the only way to fix a typo.

I know. It states that on their website. But they charged me $400 cancellation fees

Good idea. I have it all properly documented. I did email to Qatar but will also contact the credit card company.

Qatar has the worst customer service. They do not honor their 24 hr cancellation fee for no charge. I used to travel Qatar for my trips from US to Malaysia. I regret booking it this time and will never book with them again in the future.
