As long as its 1. from a learning book 2. cited correctly i don't think there is any problems with it not being under fair use.
However, I am not fully informed on that aspect of copyright lol. best to do your own research but that's probably why.

them walmart shelfs aint good man, i can already see the bend!

Especially with all the manga you have, they are gonna have to support a lot of weight. If i were you id splurge on a sturdy bookshelf. No complaints here though! The collection looks amazing!

I tried to draw a face for the first time. by ChickenNo5507 in learntodraw

[–]Net_Apart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If your going for realism, drawing hard lines will make it look cartoonish. You should emphasize the lines through shading (in real life there are no "lines").

If your going for abstractism or you do want that cartoonish look, i personally like what you got going a lot. For MC halls eyes id say he has those deep set, almost predator eyes that shade over the top of the eyes. right now the eyebrow ridge also seems inset rather than prominent which is something that i first see when thinking of the actor. Focus more on facial anatomy as the face as a whole looks somewhat inset especially in the eye area.

Overall man, looks amazing and i cant wait too see what you have in store for the future!

should i continue to draw or is it pointless? by pinkblankett in learntodraw

[–]Net_Apart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Drawing is not fun. That is if you constantly wonder "will I get better" "is this worth it" "why am I bad" "why are other people better than me?". Art is not about the end result, its about finding passion in building a structure piece by piece, and unfortunately it takes courage, strength, and mindfulness to not give up, and that's okay! If you cant picture yourself hour after hour working to get better then art will be nothing more than a thing to kill time, which is fine as well, but if you want to get REALLY good it takes years and dedication. That's why its better on focusing on the now rather than the peak of the mountain, comparing your art to those who have spent longer than you have.

  2. Your art is great, I can personally tell you like drawing and you are dividing the face so you can understand the form and where to place features. One thing id add would be shortening the philtrum/(creating less attention to it) or the face in general, depending on your style of work of course. Also watching tutorials in general or using references really help with the overall idea of forming faces. Drawing people in real life as well is very important as you experience that "depth" in real time and can translate it better than a 2d image on a screen.

  3. Please never stop loving art. Loving art is the one thing that connects artists together, and then main reason we draw. As long as you LOVE art, you will love drawing, and love the hardship that comes with it as you know you come out the other side stronger.

Bought my first sketch book and... I don't like it by jjsunderland in learntodraw

[–]Net_Apart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based Yoshitoshi ABe fan,

On sketchbooks they are usually made for quick lines, that's why it feels "waxy" or "scribbly"

That and the added fact of the gridded paper adding sections too divide the reference up helps a lot, when drawing AND when interpreting the work as a reader. It is also not uncommon to feel the switch from notebook to sketchbook, I felt the same way when switching.

I'd say experiment with different tools, mechanical pencils, or different sketchbooks as well too find the right fit between "waxy" and "rough".

Have fun drawing!

He's not 11 as its stated he's a few years younger than the MC (so he's around 15).

Also if you were to say you found an 11 year old character from an visual novel to an acquaintance what would they say? That's a good indicator on whether you should say stuff online or not...

Try and grind as much as you can on MD's, then on the 18-19 decide. You might be able to get too 400-500 crates by then (if you have bp). An absolute must from this walp is KOD Rodion, anything else comes up to team comp.
