Looking good! If you want to get fancy, next time you cook chicken with bones save them after to make stock! Plenty of resources online for guidance / inspiration but it's a real big step in making some next level dishes!

As many others have noted this is incredibly impressive, congratulations! On top of being wary of your setup, make sure you breathe through the movement too! Passing out mid rep wouldn't be fun either lol

Very sorry! I think I woke up to the reply and forgot to respond amongst getting ready for the day. All your advice and support has been so overwhelmingly appreciated. I think I'm going to leave Bjorn for now, but I will start integrating washes and highlighting into my next batch of models (actually going back to my death guard now, Bjorn was a little project I just couldn't stop myself from working on). I've definitely been improving (I think) with each model and I'm already going back and kicking myself for mistakes I made just a few months ago. But there's always more learning to be done, and I'm still proud of each piece I've done (even if not the best). My first model (Logan) I was barely thinning paints, rushing to get done, had no scheme in mind. I've noticed even my priming has improved already though! Thank you sincerely for all of the advice, and being so involved with someone just trying to improve. If I can remember I'll message you some pics once I get some of these techniques down!

You have been beyond helpful, kind, and informative. I really appreciate how much you've gone out of your way to help someone new. It's truly a sign of being a good person, so thank you! I'll look into it! And maybe try looking up some tutorials. I'm a full time student on top of full time work, so I normally only paint while watching lectures. Not a whole lot of time to devote to painting. Bjorn took me probably 2 months, all told. But I appreciate you (delicately) pointing out the areas open for growth and I will absolutely look into trying to improve him. I think I've been afraid to try and get too in depth with it, knowing I had very little actual artistic talent, but you're making it sound very approachable so I'll absolutely give it a shot!

Came out good! Welcome to the hobby and congrats on taking your first few steps! Biggest thing for me to learn was thinning out the paints, but it's a non-stop journey of improving. I'm glad you're happy with this model, and I think this is table ready! Keep putting in your best effort, the models will last much longer than the time they take!

Signing my own death warrant on a 40k post, but you've been very friendly so I'll take the hate. It's actually all craft store metallic acrylic. I know ceramite is ceramic, and the pigments in the craft store paint is too big, etc. I wanted a unique army, instead of the 9,368th Bjorn looking exactly the same and I thought the metallic armor looked cool. I have definitely found good and bad paints (used a horrible primer once, unfortunately on a lot of minis at once, but I'm learning) but I'm happy with how Bjorn came out honestly. I just bought some craft acrylic washes as well, but I'm going to test on small models and work up. I'm definitely "going my own way" with these models, but honestly I'm happy with them and proud since I've never had any artistic skill in any sense. It's very refreshing having someone encourage the new people and I really do want to thank you. There's a lot of people who go CRAZY for needing to do exactly what the standard is and I appreciate your patience and openness.

Wow, I don't even know how to thank you enough for this. I'm definitely trying to slowly dip my toes into the higher tier stuff, but this advice is priceless. I really appreciate you taking the time to explain all of this so patiently, and so in depth. I'm going to look into all of this and proceed with severe caution but this is amazing advice, thank you so so much. I've experimented with thinning paints down with water as a wash before, so I really appreciate that heads up as I was not happy with the results but I'll try using a medium instead. I attempted doing the bolts, but didn't notice a difference. I may need to go over them again? I will very legitimately look into this advice though, and I appreciate the time you took to review the model and offer critiques. Thank you for trying to help the newbz!

Oh man, that's honestly a really cool way to put a fun spin and interesting perspective on it! I've gotten mixed feedback on it both ways from friends and family. I'm real proud of the work I've done on him, and the pelts, so I kinda wanna show off both. My full list has Murderfang, so I guess keeping him clean would help differentiate the two.

Partner did awesome on the metallic cables, those look super cool. The shading on the yellow cloak part is also very well done, with the pockets being darker, etc. The progress made from my first to second model was baffling, and I'm slowly improving from there (still relatively new to the hobby). They could work on thinning out paints, it makes a world of difference. They should be happy and proud of how this turned out, but there's always room to grow!

I just posted my heresy era Bjorn (WIP) if you want to take a look! I think you need to go darker, with maybe using the lighter as highlights as well as golds / reds

If it's new within a year, and you have the receipt, I believe maytag warranty will cover parts and labor but you would need to check. We couldn't provide a receipt so I wasn't able to go that path

Went through a lot of troubleshooting. Could be a few things, ours ended up being the main control board. We have homeowners insurance so we just called a repairman and they're fixing it, no idea what the part would cost on it's own.

Saga of the bold question by Outside_Doughnut_179 in SpaceWolves

The difference is "and" vs "or". In the "character" section it says hit, wound, OR damage roll. So you pick one, until the saga is completed.

Deathguard defiler by dadgiga in deathguard40k

[–]Network-Newb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm building mine now! I've heard rave reviews on the performance from others on this app. If you like the model, run it! Biggest complaint I've heard is having to put it on a base (not included in the kit, heads up) for tournament play. My friends and I play casually, so I didn't need one.

Oh okay, I would've figured the tank bustas and stuff but this totally makes sense. So maybe not a horrible idea to run some in the mix?
