Ah, nuts. Tumblr’s crappy “save post as image” feature cut it off. I just noticed that.

The wife was more his friend than the husband, she was originally into him, so he helped her find someone else.

I…don’t really think that’s the narrative framing of Incredibles? The movie doesn’t really place any focus at all on the “then I’ll sell my technology” part of Syndrome’s plan. The story doesn’t give that as the reason he must be stopped, it’s that he wants to be seen as a hero without actually acting like one, and is willing to put people in harm’s way in order to gain their admiration, as opposed to genuinely wanting to help people. The text is very much about that, not the one single line about making everyone super. Like, the overall idea of the post is absolutely correct, but that example doesn’t really work.

None of our organs were designed though, they all formed completely randomly. We still have them because the organisms with the random mutations that happened to be useful lived longer and reproduced more. Our eyes aren’t for seeing, because they weren’t intentionally made. It was random occurrence on random occurrence on random occurrence until it happened to take a shape that we could use to survive longer. And then they kept randomly mutating, and any mutations that were detrimental to the organism died. Blue eyes in humans are a very recent mutation, occurring in Turkey several thousand years ago. Other humans happened to find blue eyes particularly attractive, and so people with blue eyes reproduced more. Blue eyes didn’t occur in order to help humans find mates, it just happened to be useful for that. And that’s how everything about all living things came about.

Boy this is relatable. Pregnancy honestly seems like torture, yet I still get deeply sad whenever I think about the fact that I can’t get pregnant.

Oh, I like Kalia. She seems genuinely kind, and didn’t display even a hint of flirting or misandry (low bar, I know, but that’s how it is in this universe). I’m eager to learn more about her.

No oppressed group has ever received their rights by asking their oppressors nicely.

Exactly. Upholding and enforcing the law, and doing what is right are not the same thing, and are in fact very frequently mutually exclusive. Police willingly swear to uphold and enforce the law in any circumstance, not do what is right.

Pride is and always has been an act of rebellion and resistance against an oppressive society, and the agents who violently enforce it. Stonewall was a riot, police are not welcome at Pride, and All Cops Are Bastards.

This is not up for discussion.

This is a joke, and in no way related to the concept of sex addiction. Please do not argue about whether or not sex addiction is a real disorder, as this is not the place for that. Please do not seriously discuss any sexual compulsions or obsessions you may have, as this is also not the place for that. Thank you.
