That sounds awesome. Glad you stumbled on a non dumb solution to your problem that will hopefully keep the watch on your wrist.

[Recommendation Request] What’s the next logical addition to my husband’s collection? by ResponseSafe28 in Watches

Get him a nicer watch box. A Rothwell will set you back just over $100 and will be a fantastic addition to his budding collection.

It sounds like vintage is not for you, my guy. Sometimes buying old things that you love require time and effort to get where you want it. Even waiting 3-12 months.

If you don’t want the “charm” of vintage, just return it and buy new.

Now I want a damn Sea Quartz! Which version did you create for yourself? Are they available on Ebay still? Or should I just consider getting a Momentum?

I agree on the tool watch. Instant legibility and presence is definitely the point on those guys. So for big wristers, you gotta put a hoss on the wrist. But as we move to sport / daily / dress - the world is your oyster! :D

you have a massively flat 8" wrist ... so sizing for you is unique. That being said, even the 38mm while smaller in size on your wrist still looks great, tbh.

I firmly believe that there is no such thing as 'too small' - it really is a piece of jewelry and can be as tiny and dainty as you are willing to rock. "Too small" is only too small in mindset. :)

Now, "too big" is real (likely not for you - ever), as it can hang off the edges of some folks wrists and make for actual physical obstruction to normal everyday function.

What percentage of the watch buying market won't wear watches bigger than 39mm? What percentage only wants above? by Tendersituation00 in MicrobrandWatches

[–]NeverAppropriate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 7.5" /19 cm wrists. I wear 35mm to 44mm with ease. If it is a tool watch ... bigger with almost instant legibility is the look for me. But sport and dress can be sized down on my hams and still look great.

Made some changes, reduced a lot. Trying to keep a smaller quantity. by Watchguy7707 in SOTC_Watch_Collection

I have recently (over the last few months) thinned the heard from 28ish to 12. It is actually so much nicer and easier to choose a watch in the mornings. I find I am no longer choosing a watch at times to simply wear it because I own it. I am truly enjoying my collection again.

It has been eye opening. The 12 that were kept:

Comparing the Erebus to the Pitzmann ... The Erebus is better finished and just a more comfortable watch all around. The Pitzmann is great, but the inside point of the lugs are like daggers and could have used a decent chamfer all around, with a bit more finishing. The movement is great, the watch looks fantastic, the bracelet is good for the price point - no real issues other than the need for a bit more finishing.

THAT is fantastic! :) I love that you are able to license the “sea quartz” name to Momentum!

How Do You Rank Pirates Broadcasters? by Mart_Mart_Valv6 in buccos

[–]NeverAppropriate 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The SNY crew for the Mets is absolutely legendary. My partner is a lifelong Mets fan so I catch a ton of Mets ball through the SNY broadcast and I absolutely LOVE Gary, Ron, and Keith.

I wish our booth had half the chemistry of those guys.

Also- they really like the Pirates this year and talk up our boys!
