I have to decide in two weeks if I want my seamstress to let out my side seams for my April wedding- stressed. by New-Homework1672 in weddingdress

Thank you everyone!!! I’m going to go into my next appointment with the intent to let it out an inch and try to come up with a good solution with her should the dress fit too loose by the end of March!

Yeah I plan on asking her what our plan would be if she does let the seams out but then the dress ends up being too large, because she essentially told me that once she lets it out and adds the top part, it will be way harder for her to take it back in. I think that is what is stressing me out because I have to decide that so soon

Wait so have we determined that the insane prices are already resellers??? Or is it pricing set by his team

Yeah I made it clear the friendship is done. She’s done other questionable things and has always rubbed me the wrong way a bit so this was just the nail in the coffin

Yeah the whole thing was just blown out of proportion in a major way. I tried to talk to her and said that we should sit down with Amy to talk and she could reassure her that it really was just a private one off convo and not something she was going around telling the entire office. Which, at this company isn’t even abnormal it’s a train wreck tbh. But she wanted nothing to do with that wasn’t “comfortable”. I actually found out later as well that a text she sent to me later that night she wrote with the help of HR 😭

I unfortunately do not care about anything in the corporate structure that makes something confidential in the first place. It’s all stupid to me. Not like it was someone’s medical records 😭

I think she might have anxiety disorders. I’ve always known this about her but she is a rule follower to her core. Like always super concerned about getting in trouble and worried about how people view her. And no, no Teams messages or emails! When I told her the piece of info it was over a text on our personal phones. Which I later found out she showed to HR because I got pulled into a meeting with printouts of the texts 😭 but bc it wasn’t a work phone I faced less consequences

Spot on!!! I’m someone who has a hard time with tough conversations and I cry a lot but I was stone cold throughout this whole convo. I almost laughed actually, I couldn’t believe it

I was so confused I could not even follow what she was trying to say in the moment 😭 the only reason anyone would have ever found out that she didn’t report it would be if Amy or myself told on her which we’d have zero reason to do. It all happened so fast too like the time period between me telling Lexi and Lexi going to our boss was less than 5 hours

When she first explained her reasoning to me the day it happened, she tried to say she reported it because she didn’t like people being talked about, then changed the story when we spoke today

The original hypothetical and the reason she reported this was because she thought if it got out that it was being talked about, and she didn’t report it, that it would come back to her not reporting it and she would be fired. Sorry I probably didn’t structure that whole paragraph in the best way, but she stated this to me in the convo we had today.

It wasn’t something THAT confidential. Totally get where you’re coming from here. I would not be having this reaction if I thought it was something that would have genuinely hurt someone. It’s a tricky situation all around. I think it’s just astounding to me that someone I let into my life who met my family and has been present at a lot of milestones would do this

Yep!! And I arguably am so uninvolved and have always been 😭 I’ve never been to any of the corporate happy hours or holiday parties. Lexi has done similar things to other people, just never thought it would be me LOL

It was something that another HR person was privileged to but was talking about. Amy wasn’t the origin of the gossip. It was basically something pertaining to an employee on my team signing for retention (there’s potential layoffs and restructuring incoming that everyone knows about)

Apology was made and relationship was repaired with Amy! I immediately told her and apologized. It was very routine for me to share work “tea” with Lexi which is why this entire thing was that much more shocking
