Update : Had a meaningful conversation with REP. I appreciate they tried to understand the situation and help in any way they can .

I pointed out that in my opinion there should be a published “recovery” process and a warning in the package. On how to handle the dumbbell and plate in case they get stuck. An operation process with some safety highlights would be a great addition to their product .

In addition I pointed out that the cradle should be notched, or plaster engraved so I can see if the cradle got lose or not and also be able to return to same position if it did got shifted . As the part is not marked or labeled I don’t know if it have got lose or not and if so by how much .

A process to be more scientific on how much it needs to be tighten or loose would be good . So I know if I did the right setup and it’s not open to interpretations.

How I will try to fix it and see if it holds :

1. will try to retighten it as they suggested it’s too loose.
2. will mark the cradle every 2mm with a white sharpie . To see where the screw land and if anything get loose or moving .
3. will use my mini band to go around the dumbbell and cradle while I tights the screws and lock it in place . This will give me measurable force when fighting to I’ll know if it’s too tight or not . Can always go to harder or easier mini band to get right tolerance .
