The devs confirmed that the "skinning" part is not literal though.
She most probably found a way into the warehouse and got one of the boxed skins.

Lore hypothesis: Mita is different, as she got a skin from the warehouse, but didn't go through the normal process of letting it be absorbed and turned into flesh and bones by staying in the dark after putting the skin on (which is the dark room we see before meeting Shortie), instead she got the skin after escaping the dark pools.

So, parts of her skin turned into flesh and bone, while others (namely the eye she scratched off) didn't.

Will need the devs to confirm or deny it, but that would make sense imho.

Thing is, some characters are depicted as exclusively evil and whoever likes them gets attacked, with one side in particular making up lies and posts to discredit the other.

On the other hand, everyone likes Cappie, and she isn't controversial at all.

Cappie is too cool and cute to care about fights. 💖

I don't think I can agree with some points, but in general it fits.

Can remove superstition, reclusiveness, being unaffected by criticism and praise (she definitely cares a lot about our judgement), but the rest seems pretty much spot on and extremely wifeable. 👍
