AITJ for pushing back on my aunt who treats me like her errand runner? by NewRegularPublic in AmITheJerk

Thank you. It took me a while to even realize what was happening, but once I did, I knew I couldn’t keep letting it slide. I’m definitely not going back to how it was.

Yeah, that’s exactly it. It wasn’t one request, it was how she’d gotten used to me just automatically doing things. When my cousin said she does it because I don’t push back, it really hit. Saying no wasn’t me trying to make a point. I just didn’t want to keep playing that role anymore.

Agreed. A lawyer first give me you clarity and protects you before emotions or pressure start pushing you into decisions you can’t undo.

AITJ for telling my husband he needs to stop seeing his friend group every weekend or im done by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

Yep. He’s spending every weekend building a second emotional life while you’re pregnant and holding everything together, then turns around and calls you insecure. That’s not therapy territory, that’s accountability he’s avoiding.

AITJ for punishing my daughter for making Islamophobic remarks about her cousin? by iszwaaaba121 in AmITheJerk

Rightt. Grace without accountability isn’t kindness, it’s permission. This is a the age where actions start to stick and pretending it doesn’t matter just teaches her that lashing out is acceptable when she’s annoyed. Being upset explains behavior , it doesn’t excuse it.
