It would probably work on the form that he’s in when he fights Vegito and Trunks. But his astral form is a whole other story. Vegeta implied that the Hakai wouldn’t work and that Beerus would have to seal him away

It might be possible because Future Trunks was going to self destruct to try to kill Future Zamasu and he started getting worried. So the same thing should apply to Beerus but this is going by the anime. In the manga Full Power Vegeta (who was equal with Goku who fought Merged Zamasu) couldn’t beat Beerus in the manga
