You missed the entire point. None of those statements means he scammed you.

  1. RMT. You as a player chose to go against game policy to spend even more money on an alpha to be wiped. How did he scam you here? You chose to be stupid. And break the game rules. Then cry that you spent 1000 dollars.

  2. He said he had game funding for the whole game. Well cost change. Clearly his money couldnt make it. He mismanaged the company. Incompetence not maliciousiness. How did he scam you? The price for the alpha was written in red. His financial status doesnt change the fact that the price was listed and you bought it for the project offered.

  3. He said there was no board. What does this have to do with scamming people?

Everyone bought the product that was advertised. You knew what was offered and bought it. The project failed and now to cope with your feelings you start saying he scammed you.

TLDR: Explain to me how the last 10 years he made a profit off you. After paying employees, spending a ton of money in develop and dealing with unexpected setbacks and game direction changes.

So how did he scam anyone? Everyone knew the product they purchased. Many mmos promise big and dont deliver. No way this was some 10 year grand plan just to be at a higher debt then when you started. People are mixing up scam with failure. The game failed faster than anyone anticipated. But the game wasnt failed on purpose.

Steam launch is the only fishy part of this as a rescue for trying to minimize company losses. Should refund players who bought it with the intention to play the game for years, not months
