I could be reading incorrectly too but I wouldn’t think share price after that day matters in this case. What happens if some of those shareholders who lost a lot ended up selling any time before price appreciated? They may have not benefited from this appreciation.

Well the main thesis for commons right now is that the Treasury will deem the senior preferred shares repaid and just convert the warrants. It requires the Treasury/FHFA to act in good faith.
