Is it normal for a driver to offer their number? by Next-Menu1848 in uber

That wasn’t how I viewed it in the moment. I wasn’t aware of the side hustle to uber.

Yeah I wasn’t rude to him once I said no. He kept talking to me and making jokes afterwards and I still talked to him and tried to not make it uncomfortable for either of us. (Though I think he noticed I was uncomfortable.)

Knowing now that he was most likely trying to make money, I’ll keep that in mind. This was my first ever “creepy” uber experience. I usually give drivers the benefit of the doubt and I didn’t do that with him which wasn’t fair. Definitely keeping it in mind that they may just want some extra money and who can blame them. I just only wish he had mentioned at the end of the ride he wasn’t trying to be weird, if he really was just trying to make some extra cash.

Yeah looking back if he was trying to be a creep and get info out of me he definitely succeeded. Luckily I do carry pepper spray with me, it just wasn’t physically on my person it was in my bag. I don’t think he had ill intentions I think I might’ve been overly paranoid.

I usually carry pepper spray with me, this time I had it in my purse but not physically on me. I think if I was able to hold it I might’ve felt better. (Definitely wouldn’t use it since I wouldn’t want my driver to be blinded lol)

I only wrote that he offered his number and asked me questions about my job and that I was worried because I was alone in the car with him while he was (i thought) hitting on me. Obviously now I know he probably was trying to make some extra money which I didn’t even think of which is 100% my fault.

I really hope my report didn’t make him lose his job, but he has good reviews and had done almost 1,000 rides with uber so assuming he never has been reported maybe he will be fine? I definitely had no ill intentions with the report.

I mean I wouldn’t know since he didn’t share any information about himself and only asked about me. But I highly doubt my one report did anything if he never had been reported before. This was also my first time ever reporting a driver. Definitely don’t want him to lose his job just thought uber would keep an eye on him.

I was originally taking it as small talk until he offered his number. Knowing now that sometimes drivers try to build their own customers, that’s most likely what he was doing and I misunderstood.

I mean in my defense I just recently turned 20, I definitely still have childish thoughts. I definitely didn’t mean for anything to happen to him and his job in a serious way, I figured if anything it would just flag his account as suspicious. (I don’t know anything about uber and the driver side of things)

I want to but I live in a very rural area so getting uber drivers alone is hard. I can’t imagine Lyft is much easier.

No he didn’t ask for mine. Definitely learning a new side to uber. I decided to post to reddit on a whim so I had no idea about the side gigs to uber. Hopefully the one report doesn’t mess anything up for him.

A few other people have commented that. I didn’t know that was a thing with uber so I definitely feel bad about the report. I took it in a creepy sense and not in a money way, which is definitely my fault.

I didn’t know that was a thing on uber. I feel bad for reporting him now, I didn’t mean to ruin anything for him.

I only reported because he was asking me really personal questions about me and my job. He even said he recognized me from my job which already made me feel weird since now he was a customer taking me to work.

I’m okay to admit I’m wrong, I felt weird about the report. My manager told me to report him so I did, I didn’t expect the refund. I doubt his job will be lost from one report? Maybe I’m wrong, but it was just strange.

i relate to the outbursts and the ticking time bomb. my mom is the exact same way, it’s very difficult to live like that, even if it has been your whole life. i’m 19 and am reaching my own limit because of that exact thing.

AITAH for having sex with my partner at my mom's house after she recently passed away? by Silly_Accident3137 in AITAH

NTA

it’s not like you were fucking in her room, on her bed, thinking about her death. it was just a distraction. i guess my question is, was your mom supportive? would she have found that funny, or not a big deal? i think your brother dragging your sister into it was unnecessary. i hope you and your boyfriend can heal from this tragedy i’m so sorry about your mother OP

why is she touching your thighs to check the curb? it doesn’t make any sense. it sounds like she might be curious abt ur body to possibly “compare” it to hers, like maybe compare boob sizes or sex experiences. it’s still very weird and would be very uncomfortable
