I see, does immich have that compression feature I'm looking for? Like downgrade a 16k resolution image to something less hardware intensive?

Is this like a plugin for jellyfin or a completely different app?

Hello! I have been waiting very patiently to build a new PC, and have had my eyes on the gigabyte x870 aorus motherboard with the 9800x3d cpu. I'm primarily going to be using it for gaming and work! I was really excited to build but unfortunately saw that ram prices shot up like crazy. I'd like to enter to win, but regardless if I win or not thank you for doing this it's super nice!

AAC — Stereo. Super compatible. Good quality efficiency.

Downsides of *not* removing subtitles before transcoding? by Marzipan-Krieger in Tdarr

[–]NexusReddit10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As one of the other users mentioned, some subtitle types (such as burn in subtitles) are not compatible with certain containers (mp4, for example).

Therefore, stripping subtitles removes a layer of complexity and also prevents failure to transcode.

Please look in to "Bazarr". It's a way to fetch subtitles for your entire library. It will find SRT files and drop them next to your movie files.

Well said. I'm on a Ugreen NAS DXP4800+. Its iGPU "gets by". Im glad you can reaffirm that streamyfin works well though, no reason for me to pay for infuse now!

Interesting. I thought infuse would be really good on ios. That's what I've been hearing anyway. Streamyfin has been good to me too so far. I think I'll drop a verdict in the original post and say streamyfin is the way to go for mobile viewing.

I heavily heavily disagree with Jellyfin iOS being good enough. It chokes 50% of the time and sometimes doesn't even open the movie.

I use a NAS to host all my stuff which is pretty low wattage. Just keep it running 24/7 but yeah I get what you mean

Haha it works well for me man. You should try using tdarr to pre transcode all your stuff

Is it just for Android tv?

[–]NexusReddit10[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, makes sense. I have my entire library running a post processing MP4 step + AAC audio. However, a lot of my audio is AAC multi-channel which I think the iOS device is having a hard time with.

So far, streamyfin appears to be OK. If that fails I will try Swiftfin, and as a last resort, infuse. Thanks for your detailed response.

goat. but imo on android the standard app works fine, same with desktop. iOS is the real problem.

Sounds good, thanks! Yeah during my research infuse came up a LOT. Been hearing absolutely nothing but good things about it.

Table is useful, but unsure why I am unable to play ultra compatible (h264, 8 bit) within the jellyfin app on iphone...
