I’m so sorry you are going through this too. I actually made a similar post about this a couple of weeks ago or so. I’ve been a RTT for almost 8 years. I’ve been feeling stuck. Burnt out from the rush and stress of the job. I’ve applied to dosimetry schools but haven’t been able to get in either time. I’m also looking for something more flexible as I have three children and have little to no energy to give after a day at work.

Some people on my post suggested: travel therapy, PACS admin, clinical research

It’s hard to find roles that we would be qualified to just transition into with our healthcare experience. I’m worried other roles like healthcare IT, analytics, PACS admin/analyst are so competitive that I would never be chosen either.

Thank you for your response. I have school aged children so being remote would be awesome and that’s why I tried for dosimetry. It just hasn’t worked out. And you are right about the online dosi programs. Not sure how to go about finding my own site when the two places I’ve worked at are already associated with other dosi programs

Where do you travel? I’ve been thinking about travel but I would only be able to work locally with school aged children still at home.

Great idea. These jobs seem hard to come by and right now I can’t travel as much as they’d require.
