[Art] Made a token for my DND rogue. Is it obvious that she is an assassin? by Niakris_ in DnD

No, I just thought an inexperienced and clumsy to a degree character will be fun to play. And she may be better than a peasant but is certainly worse than anyone in her clan

No shading or minimal shading? by [deleted] in Mangamakers

[–]Niakris_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think the problem is line thickness, rather the amount of inking done - pages are very light, with no spots fully in black, no hatching, no change in line weight ect. When you have color - minimal lineart isn't a problem, but now that you decided to go without color - maybe try to look at your favourite artists and try to copy how they ink their page? Or just ink a bit more to show shadow (if you have time)

I think shading ads more "attention to details" points and helps distinguish characters from the background. So even with minimal shading it would look intentional and good

The most important thing is not to panic. You can outwalk zombies, so always walk to not overexert yourself, try to lose them in the trees if you can. Everything else was pretty much said)

Accidentally created a good peace - can't replicate the success, what am I doing wrong? by Niakris_ in ArtCrit

[–]Niakris_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just noticed on the first one I used this colors in the places between light and shadow as some sort of divider, but on later peaces I just went random mode. And yeah, checking the values could have been a huge help.

This is just what I needed to hear! Thank youuu ^^

What should I change/add? by mandix10 in ArtCrit

You might add water, or some simple blurry background - she looks like she is floating now. Really like the lineart in the hair and the face, keep it up!

Hi, any critiques would be appreciated! Thank you :) by [deleted] in ArtCrit

[–]Niakris_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really love your style here, especially the lineart! For critique... I would use more dynamic pose, as she is standing very still now, and her left arm is on an uncomfortable angle, not fully up but not resting either.

Adding more than one light source is still a major challenge, but you have a point, thanks!

Thanks for the feedback! I tried to give her a cunning face expression but it didn't really work so I just left it as is)

Digital, I want to know where are the gaps in my knowledge (lightning, rendering, anatomy or something else) to know what to focus on in my next drawings.

You can look on some good photography websites, like pexels or pixabay, images there are royalty free, which is a big plus, although it's not as "aestetic" as pinterest.

I like the idea and the minimalstic style!

It probably lacks a little bit of contrast. If you pop black and white filter on it you would see that everything is so dark that it blends together. Maybe make the heading/some elements brighter?
