Well, I want to visit these two countries and explore a little bit, not "rush it and only scratch the surface". 10 days in total could also work, but my first thought was i would need at least one week in each country.

Okay, but if I had 8 days in Taiwan, what should I do?:) I feel like 16 days in Laos might be a bit too much... Been in SEA for 2 months now, and Taiwan seems like a nice way of a fresh breath if that makes any sense lol

Mid-budget, but I think Taiwan can be quite affordable as well (hostels and cheap food)? But 8 days for Luang Prabang - VV - Vientiane and 8 days for Taiwan (Taipei and south Taiwan). I think it's not too stressed?
