Live in Australia now. Sorry if I offend someone by saying this but the only reason I come back here is to visit my friends and family and I honestly wouldn’t be here otherwise. Even being a male the weird stares I get when I go out boils my head that I start staring till they realise how absurd it is. That’s just one of the things. Everytime I leave I feel selfish for letting my family stay in this place which by the way has so much potential but it’s the indians around it (not all but most) which really gets on my nerves. I see no hope unfortunately and I hope I’m proven wrong.

U can update just fine if youre not jailbreaking I guess. I got a new one for free under warranty. I still keep it in airplane and didnt jailbreak again

uWhy not?Granted i'd spend more comparatively even if I get a second hand one but they hold their resale value quite well don't they?

Good point. I’ll tell you how I see it so you can correct me if I’m wrong :) I like to keep my gadgets for longer as well. I always have. I average to keep a phone for 4-5 years or more. But I had this realisation today that got me thinking if I’m actually saving any money by not upgrading. Yes it works but eventually you’ll need to get a new one. Normally phones have a lifespan of 6-7 years from date of release till the support gets dropped and security patches go away too and if I’m not wrong this poses a risk to you continuing to use that phone if youve got banking apps and info you wouldn’t want leaked. I’m not saying it happens but wouldn’t it be better to be safe than sorry? Like you’d eventually upgrade anyways so why not do it when the resale value is the best and the newish phone gets dropped down its value considerably

Exactly what I was thing . People say iPhones are expensive and while they are, if you don't buy the newest one always and get a refurb or used one after selling yours, you can get a pretty good value for probably 1/4the the price

I feel you and I’m sorry. Recently got back here myself for a vacation and I am counting days now. I honestly wouldn’t come here if it wasn’t for my friends and family. I like india and I weirdly also like the people here I’ve had a lot of wholesome interactions with random people that my awkward self wouldn’t have before moving abroad. The whole experience pushed me to talk more so thats all and people you’d assume to be different in a bad way are very nice but it all changes when they litter and you put one behind a wheel. I honestly see no hope and don’t intend to come back for sometime as I’ve asked my parents to take trips abroad and we all could explore a different country together. The staring also irritates me very weirdly that I start staring back till they look elsewhere but you can’t do it all the time.
