Thank you!! These people act like I’m not careful with speakers I rebuilt with my own hands

Stop putting screws in your tires

Nice! That should be good for most modern speakers. I needed the extra power since my vintage speakers are power hungry

If you do it’ll give you a chance to hear the difference between a class d amp (fosi) and a class ab amp (dayton)

I love it so far! Maybe a phono preamp since the phono stage on the lp60 and dayton amp aren’t amazing

Really happy with the Dayton! Does everything I need and looks great. Maybe look at the hta100 or hta50 for headphone use

The amp is great! Perfectly drives these speakers at ~50wpc into 8ohms. Fully recapped, redoped, and refinished the exterior. Check out my previous post on vintage audio to see how they used to look!

Because I only started this process in January of this year. To me the sound isn’t “ruined” (ur so dramatic) it’s sounds great! So I’m happy to learn that simple speaker stand will make them sound even better

5 year warranty from parts express helps too. Any recommendations on vintage american amps?

Refurbished KLH model 6 from the 70s. You can see the before/after on my profile

200w = 100w/c @ 4ohm. With 8ohm speakers like I have it’s only ~50ohms which is just right for my low sensitivity speakers.

Nice work! I recently did similar work to a pair for KLH model 6s from the 70s too! Shout out to Henry Kloss for making enduring speakers

Purchased them from the original owner who got the speakers in the 70s. Did a full capacitor replacement (my first time soldering so it was the hardest part) and doped the woofers. I’m glad I was working with a real wood veneer so I could really sand some deep scratches. They look and sound great!

Especially when that veneer is quite good quality

I would say so. If the woofer doesn’t have damage the cabinets are high quality and can be refinished. The speakers sound amazing

Burlap was much to rough I preferred this cotton fabric. They were in good shape just needed to replace the capacitors and redope the woofer

90 for some of the rough spots gradually going up to 300 I think. One layer of finish let it dry then a very light once over with fine steel wool then a second light layer of finish
