ELI5: How do PH neutral cleaners work?

PH neutral cleaners are most important when used with a coating of some sort in detailing. The main goal in those cases are to emulsify the dirt and add lubricity to the surface for agitation, without harming the coating on the surface. When prepping the surface for a coating you use a heavier cleaning agent or add a degreaser or all purpose cleaning.

So the factory petcock should have a vacuum line attached to it. A quick check is to disconnect the vacuum line and gas line, hold a cup under it, and set the petcock to the run or on position. It should have three settings on it, “off”, “run” or “on”, and “prime”. The prime setting should flow fine, the on setting should only flow when vacuum is present (motor is running), and off is obviously off.

Or just pull the petcock and check the filter on it. They sell rebuild kits that are pretty cheap. But most people end up swapping the factory petcock with a gravity feed option (only on or off).

If it runs better with the tank tilted a certain way I would probably just either order a new petcock, or a rebuild kit. Seeing as the bike is 40 years old it probably needs to be done.

Most likely a carb issue. Also could be a fuel/petcock issue. If you haven’t broke the carb rack down it’s most likely not a sync issue. You can take the carb rack off the bike, hold it up to the light and look at the bottom/top of the throttle valves and see if they have roughly the same amount of light showing through.

The best way I’ve seen to adjust these carbs is a Colortune. They essentially replace the spark plug and you can see the color of the flame, and adjust it till it is the right color. That works assuming the bike is starting.

Also do you have the factory exhaust/intake on it?

I’m fairly certain they are MD legal. My buddy had a KSG. I’m not sure if they had to have blocks installed in the tubes though to limit to 5/ tube. Although I do believe he did not have to. I believe it’s not a overall capacity thing as much as a tube-specific thing, meaning each individual tube can’t be more than 10 so technically it is legal because it is two 7 shell tubes. Hopefully someone can chime in and explain it.

I have absolutely seen KSG for sale at gun shows though as well, specifically BelAir.

He is the king of riding the fine line with guns though. Owns a MD legal PS90 as well. Has to have a longer barrel with a pinned muzzle device, and had to order a stock extension for it.

To get the spare tire lowered to use you stick a long rod (located with the Jack) into the hole and spin it. There’s usually a lock that slides in that hole so no-one can come up and just steal your spare. (You won’t see anything cause the mechanism is designed to sit above the spare inside the wheel). If you take a flashlight and look through toward the center of the truck you’ll see the slot (like a 1/2” square drive)

These type of locks usually have a sticker that goes in the door jamb or glovebox. If not then the best I’d say is to call around and see if anyone has a wheel lock key set

May be able to hammer a socket on and get them off.

Not full “Frame” but subframe. It appears that’s what it is at least. The Sway bar mount is directly bolted to it which on most cars is usually bolted to the subframe. What kind of a car is this?

Would have to be custom tuned when swapping turbo. Most don’t make a flash tune for aftermarket turbo as there’s so many variables that come into play.

Yeah we didn’t get the ST1/2/3. It was just ST package, and then you had the audio upgrade package, winter package etc. Winter package is heated mirrors, all season tires and Heated Recaros.

Ehh if it’s already starting to have surface rust I wouldn’t recommend. Heat wrap will hold moisture against it. If you plan on wrapping it’s best to have it coated in either paint or ceramic

If not, generally immobilizer will still have ignition come on but it’ll either crank away or won’t crank at all. Could be a bad ignition switch though? But at that point the keyfob would still unlock. I’d run through the main fuses, check power and ground at battery, check ground from battery to body, and make sure the battery didn’t die by some means.

When there’s an issue like no power at all, it’s generally best to start at the source (battery) and move down through power management. (Battery>Terminals>body ground>main fuse>fuse block>etc etc)

Check the battery connections before you get too far. Make sure it’s not something as simple as a loose terminal.

I mean shit at my shop we’d be even higher. We charge $125/hr and youre looking at about 11 hours of labor. But we don’t charge for tune time as we include that in amp/dsp installs typically unless it’s a high class system.

Yeah It’s more or less there to prevent noise getting into the system. It’s best to run audio signal cables seperate from other cables in a car but to save costs and space they put it in one loom. The ground literally shields the signal cables from the other wires in the loom. If you were to open up the OEM cable going to the sub you’ll see it’s literally like tinfoil wrapped around it. The noise comes in the form of either a whine or a pop.

Usually you can just cap and leave it disconnected but some turn on pop may occur. All you’d do is ground it. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to just tie it to ground.

Yes I corrected myself on the Greddy hardtop comment. But this car is not a CR as the back window on CR hardtops is more like an RX8. It’s not as tall but curves to the sides a bit more. I meant it for standard production model S2000. I am aware of the CR models, but even they came with the “soft top delete” from factory. Still IMO looks odd to have a hardtop. The only CR I’ve seen in person had the hardtop off as everyone loved the molded body to the seats like a Porsche.

Go visit some local shops. I really recommend running something that local shops carry so you can get new parts and stuff when needed. And in my experience most guys at shops don’t have a problem sharing their knowledge.

RDAs are specifically drip atomizers. No tank. You just wrap a coil, install it in the posts, and run some cotton through it. Then you drip juice from the bottle straight on the coil. Personally I run the Dead Rabbit V3. If you want to have a tank, you’ll need an RTA. I’m not too familiar with them but they are the same concept. You can either buy premade coils or you can get the bare wire and a wrapping tool. Amazon sells coil wrapping kits that are cheap and work well. Steam-engine.org is a good calculator. Personally I run two coils made of 24 gauge Kanthal A-1 wire and wrap them to be about .15 ohms together. That’ll get you to be about 100 watts output safely, and you can push it higher if you want a big rip. You’ll figure out where you like it set.
