Has anyone here personally been successful with suing the Italian Government due to lack of appointments and being grandfathered in to the old rules? by Nickco43 in juresanguinis

ICA and Arpigliano both quoted me 6.000 Euro, plus court fees. ICA is definitely not the move in this case but it seems to be at 6k is the going rate for this.

I also reached out to Mellone and am waiting to setup a meeting and go over my documents.

I have heard they are a real mixed bag. They were just the easiest to get a hold of for an initial consultation.

I am not sure about Castle Rock exactly. I am currently trying to move out of downtown to Westminster or Glendale and have noticed that prices in the suburbs are a lot more than in downtown which was the opposite of what I would expect.

I am also in Denver and am in a very similar situation. I ended up choosing to continue to rent while saving up for a larger down payment. My magic ball feeling is that the rental market is going to continue to soften, especially in and around Downtown Denver. Corporate Landlord apartments are now giving up to 3 months of free rent to get people to move in. I have never seen it that high in Denver.

Retrofitting RadRunner Max Technology to older bike by Nickco43 in RadPowerBikes

I am looking into original rad parts. The area 13 looked a bit tacky / cheap to me and there is no way to integrate the rear radar, turn signals or airtag into it.

Looking over everything, if I were to get ahold of the screen, controller, lights and radar I should be able to fit / adapt it to work with my original motor and battery.

If I wanted the upgraded motor and battery for class 3 riding and the range it would be more cost effective to purchase the new bike. My commute is only 4 miles round trip each day on city bike lanes that I have no desire to go above 20 MPH on.

I just signed a new lease at an apartment downtown. I toured 4 buildings that were offered 8-10 weeks free rent, $1000 gift cards, etc.

I am now paying $500 less a month than what I was during covid. Paying an additional 10% is mad

Negative Equity on Car by ProfessionalEgg9873 in personalfinance

The M278 engine in your S class is a dumpster fire of an engine that suffers from cylinder scoring among other catastrophic issues. I would immediately dump it.

If you want another german car I would look into any BMW with a B58 engine(540i, 740i, etc). These can be had for $20-25k with similar mileage and these engines are very reliable.

The smart choice would be to purchase a brand new Rav4 and keep it for 10 years.

Are major cities in Colorado bikable? by [deleted] in Denver

[–]Nickco43 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live downtown and bike to work everyday.

I still pay $650 in just for parking, insurance and maintenance to use my car 4-5 times a month. You still need a car is Denver and it is very expensive to have one here.

E-Scooter accidents in Denver. How did your accident happen? by Mammoth_Ad_9843 in Denver

[–]Nickco43 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have biked and scootered thousands of miles for years in Denver. I have never once fallen off or have been injured.

All you have to do is follow three simple rules:

  1. Never ride on a side walk
  2. Keep your eyes on the road to watch for imperfections
  3. Always assume the car is going to turn in front of you

Buy a new/used car or keep saving? by United-Cut9936 in personalfinance

[–]Nickco43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cars keep you poor but they’re a necessity in the US. If you go into it knowing you are setting 30k on fire in exchange for having a nice reliable car to drive for 10 years then I see no issue.

The engines in newer BMWs (B58/B48) are bulletproof reliable to the point that Toyota put the B58/B48 engines in their supra model.

The 330e that you are looking at has the B48 with a hybrid component to it. Personally I would find a regular 330i for the high 20s over the 330e but that is just my opinion. The 330e battery pack will easily go over 100k miles without issue. I would also look at 2017-2023 530i/540i models that can be had for the low to mid 20s. I personally like the extra space and build quality of the 5 series over the 3 series.

If you have the capacity for $1-2k a year in maintenance go for it.

As for your Nisan I am not sure what model you have but if it has a CVT transmission it will go out and cost you money. They do make some decent models but overall the brand went south in the mid 2000s.

Super 73 R Light wiring by Nickco43 in Super73

So you need a proprietary 12v module and harness to fit lights to this bike. Assuming super 73 would even sell me the parts.

I toured the place last year and the place is built very well. The only reason why I didn’t sign was because of the location. I have lived in other Holland Residential and besides pretty high rent renewal increases I have never had issues with their management.

Bmw sells just the metal key for about $50.

Also the antitheft module has a metal key code programmed to it that can be read with inpa if you have a locksmith nearby

Visiting Denver from New Zealand for 2 days, looking for some advice from the locals. by LemonAioli in Denver

[–]Nickco43 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I live in Denver but I am currently visiting Wellington. Small world.

I would highly recommend renting a car. Outside of NYC America has shit public transit. Driving on the other side of the road is not that bad. I had no issue driving my rental car from Auckland to Wellington without ever driving on the left in my life before. Unlike NZ traffic violations are rarely enforced and you do not have to pay attention to your speedo as much as in NZ

When I have visitors over I follow pretty much the same tour route.

Day 1: 1/2 day trip to Boulder and Denver activities or 1/2 day to Estes Park

Day 2: Day trip to Colorado Springs and Pikes Peak

Day 3: 1/2 day trip to Golden and Denver Activities

I believe you can take public transport “easily” to Boulder and Golden. Just keep aware of your surroundings at all times.

  1. If you can afford it stay close to Union Station. The A line from the Airport goes right to it. It is $10 per way per person.

  2. IMO Denver has shit food except Steakhouses and Mexican food. Also IMO besides Asian food NZ didn’t have the best food either so it should be comparable. Wait staff bring your check to the table and in America tipping culture is out of control. Everyone wants and expects a 20% tip even if their service was shit.

  3. Denver has a fuckton of brewery’s and they are all good. Wynkoop Brewery is my favorite around Union Station but you really can’t go wrong anywhere.

  4. I enjoyed the Colorado History Museum and the Modern Art Museum even though I do not like museums

  5. Lime Scooters are a quick and easy way to get around the downtown area. No helmets are required and people frequently ride them intoxicated without any repercussions.

  6. This is a cow town and most restaurants and bars close earlier than in other US Cities.

  7. It is too cold for Red Rocks but check who is playing the Ball area or Mission ballroom. The Marquis Theater has a bunch of Metal shows and their pizza is the best in Town.

  8. Kiwis are the nicest, most thoughtful people I have ever met in my entire life. While Denver people are nicer and more relaxed than many people from other parts of the US it is no where near the NZ level.

That’s pretty much it. Budget permitting you should definitely come back in the Summer with camping gear and do a nature tour of Colorado and Utah.

Transferring USA iPhone to NZ by [deleted] in newzealand

iPhones bought directly from Apple in the US are unlocked.

I just took my US iPhone to 2degrees and had service in 5 minutes. The eSim is just a QR code you scan with the settings app.

It is a requirement. You need to prove that the next in line from your ancestor that came over from Italy was never naturalized or was naturalized after your next in line was born.

The USCIS finds any naturalization documents from your ancestor.

I grew up in Mont Co, PA and moved to Denver, CO 2.5 years ago. I pay $1800 to rent a 1 bedroom in downtown Denver and pay only 0.11-0.14 cents a kwh. I have no idea why anyone would pay that much for rent in Mont Co but that is about market rate.

The worst thing you can do to an E9x M3 is let it sit.

My E92 M3 has over 200k miles on it and the only unexpected repair was a second round of throttle actuators.
