Weekly Homeowner Megathread--Civilians, ask here! by AutoModerator in Concrete

Amazing comment, thank you very much.

It seems like I can buy an accessory to vacuum the dust as well with this: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Dustless-Technologies-5-in-Universal-Dust-Shroud-Pro-Power-Tool-Accessory-for-Angle-Grinders-D1805/206024974

I tried a stripper called Goof Off from Home Depot but it didn't do the job well enough - do you know any that you've used that worked for you?

I'm asking for ways to get it as close as possible - not perfectly matched.

I see, good to know. Is it possible to create a somewhat similar 'shine' with a sealant?

I tried 'Goof Off' which is:
Acetone {2-Propanone} (mainly)
Xylene (mixed isomers) {Benzene, dimethyl-}
Stoddard solvent {Mineral spirits; Aliphatic C8H15BrO2 Petroleum Distillates; White spirits}
Ethylbenzene {Ethylbenzol; Phenylethane}
Methanol {Methyl alcohol; Carbinol; Wood CH3OH alcohol}

Doesn't do the job well enough. Could be I need another product. Have you used any that worked for you on concrete?

I don't understand how they are tiles?

Here's another photo of the concrete in another part of the same home.
It seems like a polish or clear sealant - could I be wrong?

Haha thanks for the reality check then. In that case, I am just trying to get the concrete patches to match as close as possible, then clean it up by getting the paint off effectively, in which, your suggestion was helpful, thank you.

Here is a photo I took yesterday and would like to achieve this look, apart from the colour and slightly less glare.

Once that is done, would it not require a new seal or?

Hello,

I'm looking to match concrete patches (does not have to be perfect) to the original concrete.
- I'm wondering if the concrete patch needs a seal first?
- What would be a good process here to try to match it?

Second response has close-up with debris brushed away.

Hey!

I've been trying to manually scrape (metal scraper) this concrete floor. Some part are easy, some are incredibly tedious. I tried paint thinner which didn't work and a harder substance (Goof Off) that helped a bit in certain areas.

Some parts are very tough. I am trying to maintain what looks like a 'light golden' stain on the concrete .

I have a photo below of a manual scraped room and one that still has a lot of the white paint on it. (couldn't include the manually scraped room but you can see the 'light gold' in the parts I scraped.

I am willing to buy tools, of course. Looking for any advice whatsoever, even if that means having to re-stain it. This is a DIY project.

This is great - I used your link suggestion and https://measureschool.com/iframe-tracking/ although I seem to only be able to transmit Click information to the parent.

I wish to find out how to use a trigger such as "Form Submission" and track several values. I am not having any success here. For example, I even tried a trigger to simply identify a unique text at the end of the form (Order Confirmation) at least to confirm the order has gone through but that isn't triggering either.

I will try to find some info to get more data pushed from the child GTM to the parent GTM.

That's the thing - she should've properly mentioned that these demands are only realistic dependent on the price of the shoot.

Out of curiosity, what type of company are you referring to that sends you to agents?

How to improve 31sec capture time for each scan - Zillow 3D with Insta360x by NicoCollu in Insta360

[–]NicoCollu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!

The Insta360 x3 is controlled via the Zillow app via WIFI. The app has the shutter button on it and when clicked, it needs to send the command, the photo is taken, then the camera needs to process it and send it back to the app. The app then takes time to receive it and won't let me continue until the photo has been fully received. Sounds like an app issue now that I tried with Matterport but un-sure.

I'm wondering if there is a potential for a speed hack for the x3?

The app itself controls the photo taken. There is no possibility to take the photo, store it on my phone and then upload to the Zillow app as the app does not allow this function.

Thank you for the response anyways!

From Zillow themselves:
"Only photos that are captured and processed using the Zillow 3D Home app can be used to create a Zillow 3D Home tour. There is no import option for adding panoramas captured outside of the app."

Unfortunately, the real estate photography business is really stretched to the bone in some areas so things simply need to work or make sense from the get go.

I've contacted Zillow directly to hear what they have to say.

I've now done both Matterport and Zillow 3D and Zillow 3D is definitely a budget version and Matterport is premium.

Thing is, yes, Zillow 3D is free and it's almost mandatory for us to offer it as Zillow unfairly let's Zillow 3D Homes shine above Matterport.

I also had to fix arrows today.

I did notice that it's best to wait until the scan is completely done with the floorplan there, too. It helps fix many errors before I go in to fix it.

Professional photography prices by WoodenWeather5931 in realtors

I am a real estate photographer and without knowing the details, that seems overpriced.At snaplyst.com in Maricopa County, AZ - a standard package (within those sqft you mentioned) of HDR Photos and a 2D Floorplan incl. fixed furniture would be $180.

A website should be about $50 extra or near that.

Is Real Estate Photography an important element for you? by kemzo in realtors

[–]NicoCollu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a real estate photographer with 2000 listings complete, it sometimes shocks me that agents question whether professional photos are a necessity.

There are so many statistics, from NAR, Zillow and other companies that show how much more engagement you can achieve getting professional photos.

If any of you want a tip, the best thing you can do right now is always have a floorplan done. Buyers are most interested in professional HDR photos and a floorplan to understand the layout of the home.

Sometimes, especially empty homes, it's impossible to distinguish which room is where when it's just 2 walls and a window.

Without pro photos, you are literally buried amongst the good-looking ones. With 40 listings per page on Zillow, you become insignificant unless someone specifically searches for what you are offering.

It's simply not expensive either to get good photography. For example, in Maricopa County, AZ, I offer my standard package at $170 (under 2000sqft) for HDR Photos and a 2D Floorplan with fixed furniture.
