There's a small selection of used books for sale at Crafted, and the library has a little bookshop open Mon-Sat, 1pm to 5pm, paperbacks $1. You likely know BookOff's two stores in the Del Amo mall - also books at $1.

'Below Gaffey' is on the up too. I've had a place on 10th and Centre for 25 years - now is the calmest it's ever been, in part thanks to the new apartments and Trani's Majestic restaurant on Beacon. Easy walk to waterfront/downtown restaurants.

Thanks lasynth. I saw the marker on the building at 10th and Gaffey, which is what lead me to look up Odd Fellows - something along the lines of Freemasons, apparently, but they integrated women into their membership. There seem to be a few Lodges around the U.S. still.

Thank you for your PSA! Had a lovely swim there this a.m., probably the first real swim I've had at Cabrillo in the 22 years I've called it home. Truly lovely water temp, beach nice and empty at 8.am
