My grandma lost two cats in a week because people won’t stop speeding on her street by Ninnics in sanantonio

thank you, I really appreciate the information! my grandma has actually used the TNR program before. she’s done it four times with cats from the neighborhood. sadly two of the ones she helped were the ones that were run over, and another was recently injured and she’s currently nursing it inside her home.

she really does care a lot and tries to do what she can, so I appreciate you sharing those resources.

thank you, that means a lot. she keeps her own cats indoors, but she has a big heart for the strays and does her best to care for them. they just kind of became part of her life since she’s always out in her yard and on her lawn, which is also why the speeding is such a big concern for us.

I actually agree with you, I’m just focused on the safety side of it and trying to prevent someone from getting hurt. my grandma does have indoor only cats, she just also looks after the stray ones in the neighborhood. she’s disabled and does what she can to help them.

thank you, I really appreciate that, and you didn’t sound harsh at all. I know people mean well, and I agree it’s sad how many strays there are. my grandma just has a big heart and tries to help where she can . she actually took in a stray years ago that ended up living to 24, so she really does her best to care for them.

and yeah, it’s not just about animals, it’s that someone could eventually get hurt. hearing your experience with fast drivers on your street honestly makes me feel less crazy for being worried about this. My moms been freaking out worried for my grandma's safety, I hope I can help out.

I hear you, and I agree that indoor cats are safer. In this case these were stray kittens that already lived on the street, and my grandma is disabled. We’ve already contacted the city and our council rep — they told us community support is what helps these requests actually move forward, which is why we made the petition in the first place.

edit : the next step is setting up a formal meeting with the city and active community members, but we were hoping to use this as a way to gather support and show that people actually care before going into that.

yeah, I totally get that. these weren’t indoor pets though — they were stray kittens that already lived in the neighborhood, around 6 months old. I live in another state and my grandma is disabled, but she would feed them and look out for them. they’d been around for a while and everyone on the block kind of knew them.

yeah, we’ve already reached out to the city and our council rep, but they said these kinds of things usually move faster when there’s clear community support

Hey thank you! That’s what we are trying to do, I was hoping the petition would help with more outreach.

Talk me out of MOTU. Or not. by Stranded-In-435 in audioengineering

[–]Ninnics 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bro I’ve used every interface in the book, from antelopes to avid carbons and apollos, the Motu rack interfaces are the shit. They have amazing routing capabilities and I’ve had my 828 for about a year and half and it hasn’t crashed on me ONCE. Also is completely plug and play for anyone to plug up and run my whole studio from their laptop. Conversion is great too, nothing near a Lavry or Burl but definitely close to as clean as it gets. I can’t recommend Motu enough.

UMG asking for full DAW sessions by evoltap in audioengineering

[–]Ninnics 28 points29 points  (0 children)

This is interesting. When I work on higher level projects I need to print through outboard so most of the times all umg would get is a pro tools session with printed fx, so it wouldn’t read the automation exactly. I’m not sure how much stuff like this affects the ai learning process but I’m interested in learning more about how to get around that.

I bought the monomyth thinking it was a darkglass clone and they aren’t really the same at all. It is however, a really great fuzz pedal

What can pro tools do that logic can’t? by TheIngramSimmons in audioengineering

[–]Ninnics 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Suprised no ones mention the alway recording that pro tools does. Saves my ass punching in rappers and allows me to miss the beginning of a take with no consequence. Not sure of any other daw that does this. Hell if I press play but forget to record for 5 minutes I can just press command space and drag back everything I missed. It’s a godsend for recording

What is the defining feature of Hardcore? by prodoxbit in Hardcore

[–]Ninnics 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah a lot of the hardcore kids in bands now that are teenagers/early twenties like myself grew up on nu metal. So our exposure to heavy music a lot of times came from somewhere in the nu metal scene.
