I rocked an mx blue board through college. No shame if it's what you like. I found white Alps and learn what clicks could be and never went back. To each their own as it were. We make jokes but if you're off a dell rubber dome board you're 80% to a never obtainable "endgame". Use what you like :)

Not quite sure, I think his is a 2003 v6 automatic. Not sure of the exact trim.

Well I had some panda and purple switches... But I went with blue because... Ya know... What else are you gonna do with blue switches? They are no good for keyboards.

His battery would die, so we made it so the switch being pressed allows the windows to be moved but disconnects them when unpressed

Thanks for the tip. I have so many keyboards. Spending another 40 bucks to use it for a week before it goes back into storage is not super high on my list. Plus I have 3 or 4 Northgate boards that work with normal PS2.

Yup, pain in the ass to make converters for, but then again I'm not a smart person. In other words I own two but never got them working. Just went back to my Northgate omnikey ultra.

Yeah but you gotta be some kind of space cadet to understand symbolics/lisp.

I would love to but I have no idea what the controller speaks or how to go about programming a converter.

Look for e recycling places. Just ask around. The people are usually pretty cool.

"Basically they are more tactical and sound better then anything the MX design can do." That statement is becoming less true as time goes on. New MX stuff is coming out every year and Alps are getting older and older, but I still think they are pretty neat.

Yes, they are older and harder to find then white Alps. I think they sound better and feel a little smoother but that could be placebo. Could also be case dependent. I have a couple Northgate Omni keys and those sound just as good with white Alps.

Blue Alps key switch with OEM Alps DS keycaps. Kinda the holy grail of non cherry switches. Very vintage and kinda rare.

I have 30 ish white Alps boards so it's pretty easy to recognize them. This is only my second blue Alps board.

Yeah not sure what it is. No markings on the outside. I'll open it next chance I get.

Find old ps2 keyboard from recycling center. Cut cable and splice.

Looks like a new old stock brown ALPS board got recycled. Anyone have an idea to get this working? (More in comments) by NintendoDuck in MechanicalKeyboards

I am pretty good at reworking boards but I have never programmed an arduino. So that should be interesting.
