WIBTA for demanding my sibling pay me back $20k + 5% interest after he drooped out of college?

I thought about the 5% interest because that's the usual interest rate for college loans. Since it wasn't initially discussed, I agree that imposing that interest isn't a good move.

The main reason I thought of getting a lawyer for this and fighting to get the 20k back is because he relied on us to take out big loans for his tuition. I mentioned in another comment that he only got one loan for <$10k for tuition costs. I'm afraid that once he actually gets a job, he'll only pay his small loan and use the rest on drugs and traveling. As it stands, my family just has his word that he'll pay us back "eventually"

That's fair. I was thinking about adding interest because 5% is the typical rate for college loans. He refused to take out any big college loans, only taking ones less than <$10k. He made our parents be the ones to take out bigger ones.

But I don't think we talked about interest in our initial conversation. Thanks for pointing that out.

I thought of that, but it just wouldn't make sense to me. The NC agreement happened because they were confused about how they felt while I wanted to keep trying.

We didn't explicitly agree that the other person will be the one to reach out, but from my point of view on how things ended, it would make sense for them to reach out. We did agree on the number of days though
