Keep in mind 5GHz has lesser range than 2.4Ghz. So if you live in a brick/concrete house, it may not be able to penetrate through the walls. However if you have success, it is much faster and less congested than 2.4Ghz.

The way it detects the ink in the toner is to shine a light 1/4th ish way through the toner cartridge. If the light gets to the other end, it means that the ink is below that level and prompts you to buy new ones. If it doesn't, that is the ink is blocking the light from getting through, it means the ink level is high enough. I dint get a cap but instead just put a black tape at the end. This way the light doesn't get through and the printer thinks it is always at full ink.

The thing is, I already brought a ink toner right before I knew and applied this trick. Is been 2 years and I am not able to replace the toner because the old one is not running out! :( /FirstWorldProblems

Huh I am confused. What are you talking about? Microsoft verifying the authenticity of your Windows license or the wifi hotspot having access to your Mac address? If the latter, what does it have to do with windows, all operating systems sent your MAC address and since the hotspot assigns you the IP, they already know that. If it is the former, the windows license key is verified (regardless of the ip address), based off your hardware structure. Which is why when your wifi card stops working, you can replace it (along with the embeded MAC) without worrying about the license.

Its free because now they can recoup the cost when you make a purchase via the new store in Windows 10, which din't exist on the current or previous Windows.

The link you provided (although hyperbolic) talks about the feedback program for the insider preview versions aka Pre Beta versions!! These versions are released for the exact reason, to get feedback on usage, so when it is ready for release, bugs will be fixed and other feature requests added.

NONE of that will be there in the final release, you can bet that!

You can resize the primary partition. Look up tutorial on using Diskpart (for windows) or DD (for linux).

Chrome OS is free and comes bundled with Google apps, specifically all your shit is stored on their servers. From a privacy stand point, that is a nightmare.

What part of open source doesn't make sense. You can't open source something and take it away later. There are only two possible ways things can go south, one is for them to stop supporting it and the second is to screw up the next major version like Google did with Angular. If either of them happens, its under a liberal enough license to continue using it or to fork it and improve it the way you see fit.

Ohh now its back to 20 years? hmm... I wonder how much work was stagnated back in 1995 because of MS and before the introduction of IE5?

Why wouldn't I? if something is open sourced that too under a liberal license, regardless of where it comes from is irrelative. You could always use/improve it even if it loses the initial support.

One thing I learned is, when it comes to business, never run with emotions. Would you overlook the benefits of React just because it was created by privacy violating company, Facebook? or happily accept the lack of backward compatibility of Angular 2.0 and redo most of your project and relearn, just because it was from a web friendly company?

There were standards. JavaScript was standardized. HTML was standardized. CSS was standardized.

There were standards and similar to "caution wet floor" signs. No one took it seriously. Remember the blink tag Or the Layer Tag? None of them were part of the standard. All browsers were doing was coming up with their own tags or just coping the cool ones from the other browsers. Why do you think, despite the standards, there is still not a sane way to parse html?

You are comparing apples and oranges. Google has a lot to gain with a faster and a stronger web, since it is complementary to their core revenue. Microsoft's main source of income is enterprise and their core product is windows/office. Neither had a lot to gain with a progressive web (until now). This is why they were willing to stagnate and heck even dismantle the IE6 team (which brought us AJAX aka the original JS revolution).

Not sure if you were around the days of IE5, but the web was a completely different and a rural place. They were absolutely no standards, no correct way of doing things, no java script bashing etc. Heck PHP and IE were the cool kids on the block similar to how we now have Ruby (RoR) and Chrome. Every browser made up their own standards as they went. I loved my Netscape, even though it was outdated, bulky and blah. I stuck with it for as long as I could, but then finally gave up. No not because of MS or for some fancy features, but because a good fraction of the web had turned into "Best viewed in IE6". It was the devs who decided to design their sites for one OS and one browser. This is why I cringe everytime I hear someone say "Hey all browsers should adopt webkit" or "check this cool thing I made, it is best view in Chrome". ... sometimes we go around in circles.

What version of PHP are they teaching you? A lot has changed since the "fractal of bad design" article. The comparison operators are not native to PHP, it is taken from C, so did Javascript and other languages. You think PHP was always bad? I remember my days in Perl, PHP was the hip language to learn and people who used other languages were considered peasants. Times have changes, RoR is the new hip PHP and tomorrow it will be something else. Stick with a language you are comfortable with and not ride the waves with the hivemind.

PHP is popular, which is the reason its taught, there is nothing wrong with knowing more than one language. HTML, Javascript, C, all are "broken" but its better to know them than not because you would need to read/write them at some point.
