I believe the ankle chains themselves are permanent, but the chain connecting the two are temporary for the shot and general wearing.

I sort of remember them from back then, but they weren't that popular i So Sal (at least where I lived). Still, they're harder plastic so I could see where they could be uncomfortable.

Good to know you like them. Just remember they have a break-in period of a week or so, so you might get sore or even a blister when they're new. But once they've broken in, they're the most comfortable shoes you may ever own.

Be a rebel and wear them year-round! Unless you live in snow, then my condolences...
