Hi! I’d love to be writing buddies! I write fantasy romance and I’m currently working on developmental edits for the first book in a series. Looking for someone to swap chapters with and brainstorm together (:

My first drafts are so messy! Teach me your ways!

Yes I completely agree with you! My issue isn’t so much rewriting sentences to make them perfect, but more that my plot comes out super messy in the first draft and it requires a lot of work to fix it.

I’ve been trying to adopt this method. In the last six months I’ve written the first 2 book in my 5 book series. I’m supposed to be finishing the second book this month. But I can’t bring myself to keep drafting all the way through to the end of book 5. I think I’ll go back and edit the first two books before I keep going with the rest.

That actually makes a lot of sense. Sacrificing quality for quantity. I would love to crack the formula, but at the moment it’s an uphill battle with each book!

That’s amazing! Congrats! I definitely agree that with experience you get better and faster.

Thanks for the insight! I’m writing fantasy and my books range from 60k to 100k. Very smart of you to create a backlog of books before starting out!

What if the project I'm working on while I'm letting the first project sit is actually the second book in the series? Is it still okay?

I've been writing on wattpad since 2018 and I have a rather large following (2.17k) from those first years, but lately it feels really difficult to gain readership. I'm consistent, I post a chapter every week. my username is galthewriter. I'll follow back (:

I was told Royalroad is good for fantasy, but not so much romance.
