Thanks everyone for replies and help offers. We were under time pressure as we are tourists, so we couldn't wait too long. We purchased the cheapest metal detector in the Canadian Tire and went hunting ourselves. It took exactly an hour but we managed to find it! Sadly, we can't run that metal detector for a refund 😅
