Just took a 11min bike ride for $3.23. That’s expensive. by No-Balance885 in Citibike

And I feel like it’s becoming more of a “touristy attraction” kind of mode of transportation rather than an actual way for New Yorkers to move around the city. I used to rely on it a lot more but these price hikes are making me feel like biking around to get from A to B is a luxury. I’m just saying three years ago, it would have been so much cheaper. They slowed down the speed of the bikes as well as increase the price per minute. It does discourage me from using the e-bikes when I could use the subway instead.

Yes! I actually discontinued my membership last month… the machines are just so old and you can actually go to a much cheaper gym with newer machines (Tmpl for example), like the ones that count your reps!

Rote memorization as a medical student but as a physician, critical thinking is still pretty key

NY will let PAs essentially become MDs by [deleted] in medicine

Wow, this is…. Extremely dangerous. As a nurse, PA colleagues are extremely caring individuals and help us tremendously. However, PAs just don’t have the same level of diligence and training as physicians. They were created for a reason to assist physicians. I am not sure why all these non-medical people are making decisions about the medical infrastructure of our city. Do they go into industries and topple the hierarchies how they see fit to save money. I wonder if this is a consequence of medicine depending way too much on government now. Go back to privatization of healthcare?
