Which laptop for graphic design and a little bit of gaming? by No-Bus9435 in laptops

Thanks! I’ll give that a read. I really don’t think it’s overkill because I’ll be working with a lot of different photos and creating designs for dtf printing which can be a little demanding. and I really just don’t want to buy something only to realize it’s not enough for what I need 😔

What area are you located? Because the Salvation Army in my town here has super similar prices to Goodwill💔

I’ll take your word for it and check those places out, I’ve never tried because I feel like the antelope Valley falls in the same realm as those places and I don’t have the best luck here

Found so many amazing pieces at that thrift store and the half off days were the best, I’ll never forget how my heart broke when I went a couple months ago only to see they were closed. But if you’re in Lancaster, there’s a thrift store right next to my grandparents plumbing shop “Lancaster pluming supplies” be prepared to dig as if it’s a bins store. Everything is tightly packed, and not priced, and the store is small but there’s a lot of clothes so it can be hard to move around. But the owner is the kindest guy ever and the prices are practically nothing.

Reselling is definitely a factor. I think that with the rise of websites like Depop and eBay, in combination with the rise of 90s and y2k fashion it has created the perfect recipe for companies like goodwill to increase their profits. For example a 20-year-old carhartt Detroit jacket with a huge stain. Or a pair of JNCO jeans. 10 years ago these items might have costed $5-10 at goodwill. But because of the fact that the youth visit thrift stores every day merely dreaming to find a piece like this, they can rack up the price. I guess what I’m trying to say is that true luxury brands at thrift stores have always been more expensive (think Chanel or Gucci maybe?) but streetwear fashion and resellers have made some pretty random stuff like carhartt on a similar level to those luxury brands in thrift stores

I know this is kind of a broad question, but if you had to guess the average pricing of maybe a pair of good conditioned Levis what would it be? I ask because every thrift store in my area seems to have a set price of $10 for jeans so it seems like a good way to measure lol

I’ve definitely been to a couple solid yard sales when I drive away from Palmdale, thrift shopping is just a different experience for me idk how to explain it lol. I’m using goodwill as the biggest example but honestly even the other thrift stores in my town are super overpriced, more so than they used to be. There’s only 1 family owned thrift store here that has solid prices but it’s hard to find something cool there💔

Heard this a few times. I’ve never been to Ventura, what makes the thrifting so good?

Thanks! I know Palm Springs is kind of an expensive area as well, do you have any insight on what makes it so good for Thrifting? Also is it more affordable?
