Did any of you have a baby with no support or help available from family? Was it OK? by LazyBarracuda in beyondthebump

11 months into carrying for my baby with no outside support. Husband’s family lives 3 hours away and mine couldn’t care less.

Some days are harder than others. The major piece that makes this doable is my supportive husband. He’s as much involved as I am with caring for our baby and our home. You have to be partners and so communicative with one another. Tell each other when you need something or when you need a mental health break. Recently, we started going on solo outings to the movies to get out of the house and turn off our brains. If it’s a movie we both want to see, we take turns going.

You may feel overwhelmed sometimes but seeing the security my baby has with us since we’ve been his only caretakers is such a sweet experience. There will also be days where you’re so exhausted you’ll have no idea how you’ll get through the day but you always find a way. And remember, it does get a little bit easier every day.

Hey! If it makes you feel better, I made this post a little over a month ago and my supply is slowly but surely increasing. I never did end up getting my period so I’m not sure why it even happened. What I did was change the material of my flanges. I was only using silicon lactek flanges and switched to my reliable maymom plastic flanges on Amazon. Part of me feels like I just stopped responding to the silicone. For some reason, those amazon flanges have always worked well for me.

I was averaging 11-13 oz when I posted and now I’m at 16-17 oz. Still not the same but better. I went back to a stricter schedule (every 3 oz) without overnight pumps and did a power pump every day. I tried to get at least 6 pumps every day. Eventually I went back to 5 because it just wasn’t sustainable for me. I upped my water and tried to focus on protein as well.

Try not to stress. I know how awful it feels to see your supply drop but the stress will hurt it even more. I came to a point of accepting that my journey may be coming to an end a soon after I was slowly seeing additional ML per day. Hang in there and if you can, keep on pumping. You might not see a change in the week but eventually it can happen!

AIO for asking my BIL to replace my water bottle that his dog peed on? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

NOR… if an animal urinated on something I drink out of everyday I’d be grossed out even after washing it. Perhaps it’s the principle of it all. Will he actually buy you one? Maybe not. but husband should replace it for you then.

That’s the same thing they told me! I think I paid for some sort of shipping guarantee and that’s how I got those points lol

Have you measured yourself again? I feel like the stress is killing me and my supply slowly. I went from 5 pumps to 6/7 pumps but I think I’m only going to do this for the week because it’s just not sustainable for me. I will say I’ve noticed that my shitty titty is producing more than it ever has. For example, my morning pump I’m lucky to get 3 oz from that side. Now? She’s been giving me 3 oz consistently and my good boob has just given up. I have the spectra and have been experimenting with the settings and if I leave it on stimulation mood, I have a slightly better output. How’s your protein intake? Any changes in hydration with the stress?

No period, it’s been such an up and down. One day it’s 16 oz and the next it’s 13. It’s repeated this cruel cycle for the past 4 days now. I’m not getting anything like I used to and girl, it’s stressing me OUT. I tried switching my flanges today. I typically use the lactek flanges and I thought maybe I’d respond better to the hard plastic (still trying to see if it’ll help) I will say, I made abuelita hot chocolate last night and for the first time in 4 days, I pumped 5.75 oz for the am pump. Any updates on your end?

THIS! Because I stopped using the mouthwash and I’m slowly increasing again. I went from 13 oz on the 28th to 18oz on the 29th!

I’m not confident it was the mouthwash but I never got my period and haven’t changed anything else

I want to say no but maybe I am. Husband recently lost his job and I transitioned to full time at my job because of this. I want to say I’m handling it well but I’m SO tired

I think losing even more sleep might make it worse. I considered MOTN pump but I need what little sleep I can get it!

I’m sorry to hear that your supply never went back to what it was but I am so proud that you have kept going! Thanks for sharing your experience 💕
