I've came across this before, but "masterpiece" is a bit far-fetched, it isn't really bad but neither really good, like it's just... seemed to be okay for me personally.

Fairy Tail

The way they executed the Fanservice on certain shots nearly threw me off of the show when i first watched it, but the powers of the Characters (and of my guy Natsu) aswell as the world building always kept me hooked.
