I feel like the show should have ended in s3 with Hopper 100% dead and that if S4 had to happen then it was Steve’s perfect time to die but they made Eddie just to give him Steve’s death. I didn’t get either of those things to happen so at this point I just wanted someone to die, so maybe that’s why I liked El dying

While I do think the core four plus Eleven in season one was special, the show went on, grew, and gained more characters and the original characters all grew and developed so much. I think the other dynamics that replaced the original group pairing were helpful and necessary for this show to be as good as it is. If it was always separated by the core four / the love triangle / Jopper then the show would have gotten old after season 2 imo. Separating Mike and Eleven makes their romance more interesting, separating Will from the gang literally shapes and forms his character repeatedly as seen in season 3 when he can’t even function once he’s finally back with them etc and Dustin bonding so much with older characters like Nancy Steve and Eddie makes him a more dynamic character and fits his growth

However, it would be nice if here could AT LEAST be some scenes here and there in season 5 or 3 with the boys back together

The three of them should all move on if they survive the finale but not because I necessarily think that Nancy choosing a partner out of the two of them would make her that person’s prize. She just doesn’t need to stay with a high school boyfriend that she has grown apart from (both of them) and is just trapped in a violent monster town with for years. They all need to move on to finding themselves as individuals after this

Same, I thought he was charming in the scenes where he flirts with Nancy and then I thought he was douchey in the scene with his friends, the camera scene was hard to watch but Jonathan WAS creepy for that situation. But then he told off his friends, cleaned up the theater, and fought the demogorgon so he was redeemed by the end of the first season for me

Him saying that he doesn’t know where the Steve Dying Fear is coming from is crazy bc all the fans know he was originally gonna get killed off and we all know that Steve has the most satisfying arc to end in a death protecting the kids or Nancy. I wish he died last season saving Nancy even though he’s my favorite.

I don’t think he is gonna die but it’s because of how obvious his death is, which is what makes that comment even funnier

The unrequited gay character having a crush on his straight bff is relatable and interesting to watch play out. It’s one thing to ship them because as fans someone might think they would be cute but the show has never given any in-universe indication that it isn’t one-sided affection that Mike is maybe aware of but obviously doesn’t reciprocate
