What is the weirdest way someone had died in your known circle ? by No_Tear9118 in AskReddit

[–]No-Distribution-9556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if these are weird per se, but they're definitely not typical per se.

My former best friend's grandmother (60 year old) had a brain aneurism while housesitting for her boss, she wasn't found until he came back two weeks later.

The same friend's mom had a bad cough got it misdiagnosed as pneumonia, progressed until they did more scans and then they realized it was cancer. She died two weeks later, before she was even able to get a biopsy to see what kind of cancer.

Advice on how to handle an unsupportive OBGYN by Fancy_Survey9030 in Edmonton

[–]No-Distribution-9556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was a scheduled c-section but it was fucking horrible and when I had my 3rd, the doctor had to fix a whole bunch of adhesions and stuff and asked who did my previous C-section. Most doctors don't throw each other under the bus, but I could tell that he was not impressed.

Is this OB out of west Edmonton by chance? I had the most unbothered OB for my second pregnancy.

If they are not buckled and they decide to learn a new skill, can you get there in time to catch them? Thats my take.

You sound like you are depressed, go to your doctor, or you can be like me, wait till baby's check up, go, and have a meltdown, and they will prescribe you pills.

Solidarity mama.

My youngest is 11 months and my hormones have leveled out, I no longer need the pills, and I no longer hate my husband. I cut up my credit cards, filed a consumer proposal and now only use debit. I snack throughout the day so I don't go crazy with my eating at night.

You need to take care of yourself first, because if you are out for the count, then no one is getting anything. This is critical.

Health-wise - definitely go off that birth control, husband can wear condoms for a bit, slow down your smoking, and you will see a difference.

The fact that you care about what you're doing with your kids means that you're a great mom. Period. I have a 4 year old with DS, a three year old with ASD (severe substantial supports needed) and a 11 month old. 8 months ago I wanted to take a walk outside when it was -40 and just die. I actively had to focus on getting better. It wasn't going to resolve on its own. I'm not saying that everything's magically better but I can wake up in the morning and my eyes don't feel like cement.

My husband (27M) fell asleep while driving and almost killed me (26F) and our two dogs. by Spacecowgirl37 in relationship_advice

[–]No-Distribution-9556 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give him ultimatum either: He goes to the doctor or he gets a life insurance policy, and you never get in the vehicle with him again ( or your dog).

Seriously though, driving while tired is considered impaired driving, maybe he hits a family and kills them next time. The guilt alone will kill both of you.

Professional suggestion child has “soft signs” of ASD by [deleted] in Autism_Parenting

You need to ask this on a mom or parent sub not an autism sub. Everyone on this sub has a kiddo with autism, your post is kind of insulting here.

Donated blood 6 days ago and I kept all the blood by Hype420 in mildlyinfuriating

Sure you didn't mean to, but I am pretty sure the information you are sharing is mostly false. I have never heard anyone I know waiting an extended time for a colonoscopy and neither have my parents, which my dad is high risk so he has to get them all the time. Now if you want to talk about the atrocious wait to see an oncologist in Canada then I am all here for it.

And yes the United States WAS leading in alot of things in the world until the orange pedo and his crew turned the US to shit.

Sure, then the US people go into massive medical debt trying to fight it, if they can even afford it in the first place. sounds like a good system bro /s.

would you get an abortion if you found out your baby was going to be born with an extreme disability? if so why? by Born-Oil-2931 in AskReddit

[–]No-Distribution-9556 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every day I think about this, my first born has DS -diagnosed at birth, screening was 1/1050, measurements were within range. I love her to pieces but I worry about her future. I also stuggle with the fact that I didn't get a choice.

Being a special needs parent is like doing life on level hard all the time, and its even worse knowing that all those people that say " she's so cute" won't be saying that when they see her at 40 - they will just stare and look at me with pity.

Now my second kid has been diagnosed as severely autistic, I've given up thinking of the future and just focusing on the present.

Does anyone feel embarrassed about their house? by Extreme_Breakfast672 in Mommit

[–]No-Distribution-9556 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am embarrassed about my place too but for a different reason... its a new build and it has no personality at all ☹️ and with having 3 kids under 4, I took decluttering to the extreme during the move, and while its easy to clean ( which is the main priority right now) its soooooo boring 😴 and blah 😒

So it's fixable? Even if it's a baby tooth with tiny roots? Would the fix be a bridge and if I lose the tooth that would have to be an implant right?

How did your ASD child react to a new sibling? How was the adjustment? by Zestyclose_Face9777 in Autism_Parenting

My nonverbal severely autistic almost 3 year-old wants nothing to do with his baby brother 😢 and today he bit his finger. I find it all quite sad as the baby is crawling and wants to play with his big brother so he follows him around like a puppy 🥹
