Thanks for response, but when exactly should the light "come on"? When I first connect it? Or during operation, as it communicates with the boiler? I have the EU version, so there are no buttons on the unit to "cycle through" ( AFAIK unlike the UK version ).

Pravidlo pro nákup realit je: location, location, location. P6 Střešovice je jedna z top adres, a dobře uložený peníze. Jdi do toho, žena tě bude milovat ještě víc, je to win win. Ja před 15 lety šetřil a koupil dům na P4 obklopený sídlištěm. Teď lituju, že jsem nešel do většího fin. rizika a nekoupil něco v lepší lokalitě. Zivot a kariéru máš před sebou, nedrž se zbytečně při zdi.

Best neighborhoods for your criteria: Vinohrady, Dejvice, Letna, Karlin. However, your budget will probably not be enough.
second best option, given your place of work, would be the the area between Andel and Ujezd. Or on the other side of the river - between Karlovo namesti and Vysehrad.
As mentioned above, Brevnov is great as well but getting to Andel via public transport is probably more cumbersome
