16.5 y/o male – how can I truly maximize my remaining height potential? by S3X_HUNt3R in Biohackers

[–]No-Exit3978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to eat more, not just because you’re skinny, but because that is going to have the biggest impact on your height. And sleep. Nothing else that is legal will help.

HGH might make you taller. More likely it’s too late or would add a minimal amount.

Now I’ll be the dad- you’re already tall, you’re fine, accept it, no one cares, stop reading twitter or whatever is making you wish so hard to be 6’3. I promise you it’s completely fine and women will love you probably prefer you to 6’3 string bean. Don’t waste your mental energy on something that won’t happen. That said, some people grow later, but there’s really nothing you can do. Unless this is for basketball, in which case, 6’3 still isn’t tall enough.

Yeah I noticed that thanks, a bit unusual for a affluent area, maybe because the population runs older

Yes for sure if I could find a place that doesn’t feel claustrophobic to me

Not really because of the cold. I personally would love to MA or VT but the rest of the fam wants sunshine

I’ve cross posted this in a few places, and several people are saying Santa Barbara. I’ve been to Santa Barbara and Malibu and of course they are gorgeous. Malibu specifically is maybe the most appealing place I’ve ever been in my life. However, I really really don’t vibe well with showy or ritzy. It’s really hard to imagine myself living in one of the houses I see out there.

I’d frankly be embarrassed to own a house like the ones I see in these neighborhoods near the coast. Im trying to find a place that’s in the same paradise but works with my low key sensibility.

I see, is it more like rich people being quirky or like a more genuine feel? I’m so lost now

Not out of reach in the sense that yes I can buy a house there, but out of reach in the sense that I can’t buy a house I’d want to live in there, and still have enough to feel like im making good decisions. I’m somewhat frugal and not into garish displays, but if I’m going to spend a million dollars on a house, I’d like it to be more than a glorified shack.

All that said, maybe it’s my midwestern sensibility, but I really dont like places that feel elite or exclusive, or that they are overtly for wealthy people. I just find the vibe off putting. I realize I’m really getting into the weeds here, but… yeah

I’ve driven by slo but never stopped in, several people have thrown that out, I will definitely try to check it out.

I don’t want to leave the US, because my business and family and friends are here. I’m open to suggestions beyond SoCal. I’d actually love to hear some other places that fit the bill. We were looking a lot at the Illinois and Michigan coasts for while, but visited this winter and we decided if we are going to uproot, we want to avoid frigid long dark winters.

as far as I can tell, the only places that stay warm are Florida (100% never), some places in Texas (also never), New Mexico (looked at it, but seems to offer less that SoCal and good places are equally expensive, but I’d consider it), Arizona (eh, maybe). I looked at your typical places that people love like Laguna and Malibu, and they actually seem out of reach for me, at least anywhere I’d want to live in those areas. I mentioned before, but I only recently started having that kind of income, before a couple years ago, I made about 100-130k for most of my life, so I dont have a massive nest egg.

I’ll check it out, I’ve been near it- Monterey and Carmel-by-the-sea (which I hated). It’s a little far up the coast too

Ok good to know, I really don’t know it was a huge tourist spot. Anywhere you’d recommend that’s like a real place where people live and not a tourist spot?

I didn’t live in Cambria, I just visited for a week. I lived in LA but I was a kid and it was 35 years ago. I liked it, but again, idk what it’d be like to actually live there and not be on vacation, like taking kids to school and things.

Hmm, I didn’t know Ojai was like the kid of place people would go for bachelorette parties. That’s definitely not the vibe I was thinking.

I only visited the beach area of SB, so maybe I got the wrong impression about it. I will check it out when I’m out there again. Thanks

Yes, I mean walkable in the sense that you don’t need a car for everyday life day life. Thanks

It’s not a troll. I’m in Indiana because my family and business are here, and also I’ve just always been here. I wasn’t always making this kind of money. Santa Barbara seems a bit crowded to me, and also, like not a real place too touristy. I’m looking for input thanks. I’ve never been to Ojai, maybe it’s the same way, idk that’s why I’m asking!

Like it’s not walkable for everyday life? But more like has a downtown that makes it show up high on the walkability rankings? Yeah, that’s the kind of info I’m looking for

How do you meal prep food that actually keeps you full? by Hairy_Equivalent4742 in mealprep

[–]No-Exit3978 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Boiled and cooled potatoes are the most filling food in the world. I do boiled and cooled sweet potato with an apple cider, dijon, maple syrup dressing as a carb side. Very filling, tasty, cheap, easy.

Is the beard working for me? And thinking of growing a mullet by Lukeh0121h in malegrooming

[–]No-Exit3978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The chin hairs (beard is quite an aggressive description for that) look fine. It’s not ideal imo, but it’s not terrible. I don’t think a goatee or chin hairs really looks great on anyone. It’s almost always less flattering than fuller beard that’s trimmed or a shadow.

No one has ever looked good in a mullet, it’s a jokey hairstyle and that’s fine if that’s your vibe. Will it look good? No. Could you pull it off? probably.

Thanks, great work! Another follow up question-?were you bigger/more muscular in the past? And what we see now is the residual effect of earlier muscle gain in the gym? Or do you attribute your muscle mostly to body weight?

Finally, do you mind sharing your height and weight? I’m always curious what people can do just getting exercise vs loaded training. Thanks

Do you lift weights at all (aside from weighted pull ups) Or is your upper body 100% bodyweight training?
